Been yearning to meet this thing of beauty the first time we clapped eyes on fellow Tastemaker @veronicaphua's feed, and it was simply a glorious moment when we finally did.

The Cheese & Tomato Pesto Panini ($12) is a meatless option, but it's packed with such great flavours you don't feel that you're missing out on anything. The fragrant sundried tomato miche (a type of French sourdough) was grilled to a light crisp with soft insides, generously filled with baby spinach and juicy tomatoes, as well as an oozing mixture of buffalo mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheese. What brought in the home run for me was the delicious housemade tomato & cashew pesto, which made it all too irresistible.

You're gawking at one half of a 6-inch philly, essentially a bulging mob of beef smothered in molten cheese and caramelised onions. The soft, crusty hoagie roll is slightly hollowed out to make room for sliced beef MANY MANY. Yumz.

Kong Bak Banh Mi ($16 per sub; half portion pictured right)
Sulking away in a corner is an unapologetically thick slab of braised pork belly that doesn't try to fit in (pun totally intended). Creamy & punchy hoisin aioli plays Bonnie to its Clyde, while pickled daikon and carrot, lime and coriander leaves attempt to rein the bellicose duo in. This is ridiculous, yes, but you know you want it.

Post-mortem: Having a full 6-inch to yourself will likely leave you in a #foodcoma. So don't do like we did; consider sharing just ONE with someone else if you're doing lunch.

Mayo-free but still big on taste, think of this as an Asian variant of the lobster roll. Chunks of fresh lobster meat infused with akimiso, aged soy sauce and sesame bursting out of a crispy buttered bun with sexy grilled marks on both sides. Served with truffled potato crisps and a side salad as part of a set.

Here's their signature Hot Reuben - a hearty butty of corned beef, melted Emmental cheese, sauerkraut, onions, Russian dressing. Fresh, vibrant flavours assaulted the senses till all of it was gone. The homebaked Asahi Kuronama beer #bread deserves special mention for its depth of malty & smoky flavours.
