Price is such a steal, with a min order of 6 pcs. But badly disappointed on how far from fresh these are. Lemon & vinegar slightly saved the dish. Hope it was just a bad night 🙃

Huge deep-fried battered fish served with 2 sides (excuse the 2 carbs 😂). The portion is really huge as compared to most Western hawker stalls, but I guess they just compensate for the steep price point

Glad that the breading is not too thick, and the fish is not too greasy as well. Enjoyed their fries a lot (the serving is generous as well)

They have an ongoing promo (buy 2 sets, free 1 set) until end of Oct :) aaaand their Mon-Thur value lunch have this set at $7.50+ only (more at par with other stalls - not sure how the portions are for this promo)

The photo doesn’t give justice to the joy I had with every bite of this Xtapodi ($39.80++) grilled octopus dish. I haven’t had a lot of octopus dishes yet, but I am very happy to have this as one of my firsts. Each piece (cut into bite size) has a thin skin layer which has a crusty texture and grilled taste. This contrasts with the meat which is very soft yet chewy but not rubbery at all. It is sitting in a vinegar-evoo dip which adds to the punch as well. Really enjoyed this dish.

This Tom Yum Goong Soup ($10.15+), served with rice, had a generous amount of huge prawns - very fresh and cooked nicely (not tough at all). Soup is sour and quite spicy, but just enough to my liking.

Finding this place was a happy accident while I was looking for Pizza Hut to tapao my lunch from 😂 place is quiet (idk on weekdays though as there are offices nearby), price is reasonable 👍🏻

🦀 Award-Winning Chilli Crab ($108++ for 1kg). Of course we had to try their renowned chilli crab, especially for first-timers like us. I’m not sure if I just haven’t had my chilli crab fix for a very long time before this, but it’s really good as well. Sauce could be watered down a bit, but the mantou buns ($0.80++ each) already balance it

🦞Australian Lobster and Glass VermicellI Braised with "Sha Cha' Sauce in Claypot ($24.80++/100g). There’s an ongoing 50% off promo for this AU lobster so we opted for this instead of the Boston one ($13.80++/100g). We weren’t supposed to order this but the nearby table had it and it smelled so goooood. It didn’t disappont at all! This is the best dish for me. Sauce is very savoury and sweet. Lobster, though teeny-bit overcooked for me, is really good as well. 800g was just enough for the 5 of us. The vermicelli felt like bottomless, there’s just too much 😂

By its name on the menu, I initially thought that the Crispy Salmon Sushi ($20++) would be an aburi sushi, but served was an interesting plate of raw salmon over crispy rice (somehow looking like a rectangular potato croquettes). Temp of the salmon was a bit (just if you let it sit long lol) affected by the temp of the rice (maybe you’ll only notice too if you’re very particular with the rawness of the fish). But (!!) the texture of the salmon and rice is very good. It’s also paired with chipotle mayo & touch of soya glaze which is a really great combi. It was a crowd fave that we intended to get seconds 😋

Look at that craaaab. 😍 I’ve always hated eating crabs as I find it more tedious than enjoyable, not until I’ve tried chili crab (first time was still in KL). Holy Crab’s ($9+/100g) is no different as they cook it very well. We chose level 2 of heat, and it’s just the right amount of spice you would want if you’re chili-averse like me lol. We paired it with their mantou ($4+ for 5) which could be improved as it’s a bit oily. Enjoyed every bit of this 1.3kg crab. Probably one of the mid-range crab places I’ve tried that totally didn’t disappoint!

Though we frequent Marche for their rosti, we tried a different set today (for a bigger group). Ordered whole pork knuckle ($48.90++) and two servings of seafood paella ($21.90++ each). Pork is a bit chewy and dry, but will satisfy your pork cravings. Paella is filling and generous with toppings.

Gringo’s grilled tuna jaw (Php 375) is a must try aside from their chicken and ribs. Love that it tastes so savoury and fresh. Plus points on the very generous serving as well 😁

This oyster omelette is just the bomb! The oysters taste and feel so fresh 😍 For just $10, we got to enjoy this medium-sized plate. It was served to us fresh from pan, tasted like it was stir fried. The omelette has a generous amount of oysters too. Nice meal overall. Pair it with a bottle of beer 😉
