Their French toast just hit the right spot with its buttery brioche drenched with maple syrup and that generous amounts of berries for a sweet tangy kick. Sunday brunch made right. ๐
But first, I need to laze in bed some more. Head over to @botanist.sg only after like 2pm. ๐ I can't get enough of their breakfast platter. Soooooo satisfying.
Quite a rare dish to be found in a cafe โ pretty decent as well considering that the Aubergines were soft to bite and carried a nice hint of charred smokiness; all that while it's being balanced out with a creamy and thick yogurt dressing with a hint of garlicky flavours and za'tar spices for a little savouriness, while the pomegranate seeds adds a little sour zing to lift all the flavours together. Sounds pretty unconventional but works!
Weekend = Indulgence. Craving for some legit Grilled Cheese Sandwich after workshop. A wonderful combination of gruyere and taleggio cheese sandwich between perfectly toasted bread, see that gooey cheese as you break them apart! Or add $3 for some tender braised beef short rib filling.

A short walk from City Hall MRT station, this cafe facing Raffles Hotel dishes out hearty, protein-based grain bowls at reasonable prices (prices are nett). Like its sister outlet in Duxton, Ninja Bowl, you can choose to have soba, greens or Ninja Rice as your base ($2 each), of which we recommend the latter that mixes brown and Japanese rice. The What's Your Beef ($18) bowl features 150g of Australian ribeye, cooked to a medium-rare doneness. It is loaded with grilled corn, sautรฉed mushrooms, honey glazed carrots and golden garlic chips, all perfectly plated to surround a wobbly onsen egg. There are only 30 plates of What's Your Beef available daily, so head down early to snag one! For non-beef lovers, either the Oh My Cod! ($18) that comes with a perfectly pan-seared miso-sake marinated cod fillet, or the lightly grilled Squid Fix ($18) will satisfy. Oh, and since you (kinda) ate clean, you might as well share a Marvellous Matcha ($16) โ the irresistible oozing matcha hotcake!

This cosy, Chinese-inspired restaurant bar on Duxton is cheeky and in-your-face (check out the red lanterns and pictures of vintage Chinese pin-up girls), and so much fun because of that โ so bring a brunch date with a sense of humour. Like the dinner menu, the brunch selection is adventurous and creative. Sit down to raved about plates like the Unagi Benedict ($23), which Burppler Alison Ho describes as "a fantastic fusion dish that combines fried mantou with that umami from the unagi and a whole dollop of an amazing yuzu hollandaise". Also try the popular Mentaiko Mac & Cheese ($16) and Mung Bean Frittata ($17). For dessert, get Coconut Tau Huay ($6) or the Mantou French Toast Ice Cream Sandwich ($7).

Sundays are made for indulgent brunches, and Nosh sure proves an excellent choice for starting the day right. Hearty dishes can be had in a quaint dining room setting, or alfrescoโa gorgeous, breezy verandah decked out with white-washed wooden tables and chairs, as well as powerful fans to combat the heat.
Their signature brunch itemโone that dates back to a couple of years ago when Nosh was Krishโfeatures perfectly poached eggs dressed with coconut curry hollandaise, a sweeter, Southeast Asian-inspired riff on the classic. The experience culminates when molten yolk lava meets the no-nonsense crab cakesโcrisp patties of unadulterated crustacean goodnessโon the perfect canvas that is the beautifully-toasted, chewy English muffin.
Apart from that, you need to get the all time favorite - Gashouse Eggs. If you don't know what it is, you need to get yourself a portion right now.
Perfect for the lazy day!
P/S: Their new brunch menu is now available at myVillage as well! ๐๐ผ
Fans of Neil Road's Jing Hua Xiao Chi can get their homemade dumplings, zha jiang noodles and crispy red bean pancake fix at this outlet along Bugis Village, with a shorter waiting time too. No matter what dishes you're eyeing, be sure to start with an order of their signature Pan Fried Pork and Seafood Dumplings ($8 for 10 pieces). It's the star attraction for Burpple Tastemaker Sheryl Lyx โ crispy skin stuffed with a generous filling of chives and minced pork that "breaks apart to release a good amount of porky essence (think XLB soup within the dumpling)". Apart from dumplings, the Chinese Pizza ($11) packed with well-seasoned minced meat and wrapped in a crispy yet crumbly crust is great for sharing in a group. End your meal on a sweet note with their signature dessert โ Crispy Red Bean Pancake ($10). It's crispy on the outside, mochi-like in the middle and packed with sweet red bean filling.

Trying out one of the cool cafes at Upper Thomson. Reviews said this is the best dish so we tried. Quite worth it for $19.50, with loads of duck meat, rosti potato, 2 poached eggs and toast. Quite delicious and filling combination!
