Keefe's guide to steak in Singapore
(dunno which country) wagyu ribeye marbling score 3-4 with a side of truffle fries at $59.90++. 1-for-1 with Entertainer. got it medium because medium rare never gets done properly at medium-ranged (and below) steakhouses. turned out pretty good. well marbled with not too much fat. pretty soft and tender. at 1-for-1, it's really good value for money. would put it on par with FYR's steaks. 4/5
back here for steak and free flow wine. thank goodness the cuts this time are not too fatty. and this also proves my point on why i tend to order medium at mid-range steakhouses: they tend to undercook their meat! so a medium comes out medium rare (with some parts even quite rare). btw, they improved their mac n cheese recipe! this has evolved into one of the tastiest mac n cheeses in Singapore! at just $6++ a side, this is probably the most value for money mac n cheese side at ANY steakhouse in Singapore. all these with free flow sparkling, red and white wine for around $75 nett per person? can't beat. 5/5
back here for perfectly medium rare 1.1kg Wagyu Fiorentina T bone steak ($188++, serves two). finally. and it tasted even better than the first time. this has officially displaced Cut as my #1 steak in Singapore. thick cut slices of steak grilled with slightly burnt and crispy ends (the burnt taste was akin to wok-hei in a wonderful plate of hokkien mee) which were so tender and flavourful no sauces were needed. 5/5 stars for sure.
