The Cold Storage at Great World City has revamped itself into a much more premium supermarket that has offerings such as an oyster bar, sushi and 30-hour stone baked sourdough bread.

I tried the salad for the first time. For $7.90, you can get 1 base + 1 protein + 2 toppings + 1 dressing. I liked that they have interesting dressings that differentiated this salad bar from the rest. I got the tahini yogurt dressing - it was sour with a nutty aftertaste. The only gripe I have about this salad is that all the ingredients are extremely cold, even the teriyaki chicken. I would have preferred that the chicken was warm, as it would have brought out the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce. But it was still a tasty and healthy dinner, and good for days I don’t want to eat so much at night.

The chicken was fried on the spot, so it was fresh and juicy! I liked the noodles but the portion was a bit small... or maybe I am just a big eater.

Just some simple comfort food for the uninitiated. I quite liked the basmati rice. It feels a bit like fusion food, with the Japanese curry and cutlet... but it comes with basmati rice. A little different from the usual, but still delightful.

Despite its name, the fries are not spicy at all! The fries came with a cheese dip. Very fluffy interior that went well with the delicious cheese dip. The cheese dip tasted a bit like nachos cheese dip though.

It was a huge portion of lamb - I’m not a fan of lamb because of the “grassy” aftertaste. But the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender... and the sauce was savoury and delightful to taste. It went so well with the basmati rice!

Super tender chicken wings but had a slight spice to them. I’m not a fan of chicken wings but this was pretty good!

The flatbread was so soft and fluffy, and such a delight to eat on its own. I like my carbs very much. It goes well with the masala too. The chicken pieces were tender and they soaked up all the curry. I loved this dish!

An afternoon of indulgences!! That Chendol Cake from Julie Bakes was oh so sinfully good! A soft, fine cake layered with cream and mashed red beans, and drizzled in coconut milk and gula melaka!! 😍😍😍

Awesome place to have nasi lemak kukus, awesome food choices, very casual set-up & very friendly staff !

Housed in the same coffeeshop as Hua Yang SiChuan cuisine along Tyrwhitt road, this stall is the neighbour and extension of the famed 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist. The Wanton Mee Co only has three items available on the menu — Wanton Mee ($4.50), Kai Lan ($4.50) and Wanton Soup ($4.50). However, you can avoid the long queue at 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist and get their roasts meats added onto the wanton noodles instead! Get the Char Siew ($2) for its melt-in-your-mouth fatty bits, or the Sio Bak ($2) for the unbelievably crackling skin. While the noodles won't blow your mind, portions are generous, making this a satisfying lunch altogether.

This was slightly disappointing, especially considering the price. The steak while well-seasoned turned out to be a little dry, and slightly over-cooked for something that was supposed to be medium-rare. Quantity of the side dishes were not great, and other places like Astons etc. which have similar offerings at cheaper prices are more generous with their sides. If the steak itself was better, it might have been worth it. But unfortunately, this fell short of expectations. To be fair, their non-steak items like chicken are much cheaper and probably more value for money.

BILL: $23.30nett
Basil minced pork jade noodles $6.90
Green curry don $6.90
Spring roll $5.50
Thai lemongrass drink $2.00
Iced lemon tea $2.00

WAITING TIME: 5-10 min

Generous portions. Nice presentation. Friendly staff/owner. Good service.
