Super delicious steamed live bamboo clams with minced garlic. Nicer than the usual bamboo clams, more tender, and without all the other fuss like noodles and coriander etc that restaurants usually present this with.

Sometimes I wish CNY would never end so I could have Yu Sheng all the time. 😅
This version was served with salmon, tuna and swordfish sashimi with crunchy bits of seaweed then drizzled with fragrant truffle oil and goma (sesame) sauce. 😋

One of my all time favourite dishes (because of the broccoli and mushrooms 😋), this is Braised Sea Cucumber with Pomelo Pith & Broccoli. This CNY Joyden Treasures has incorporated pomelo into their dishes for an interesting twist and it symbolises abundance and good fortune—perfect for the Lunar New Year! The pomelo pith doesn't have any flavour, so it soaks up the sauce and is soft in texture.

No better way to enjoy CNY than with my favourite festive dish… This is Full of Luck Club's rendition with Crispy Fish Skin, Salmon Yu Sheng and Yuzu Dressing. $48 Dine-in or takeaway. A more citrus flavoured, light Yu Sheng so that you have space for other delicious dishes.

A definite must try at Lei Garden is this sweet and sour pork with a twist. A super tender mini slab of braised pork belly sitting in sweet and sour sauce—it's so tender it tears apart easily even with a soup spoon. Only gripe is that I wish I had more than one serving of this. 😅

An attempt at fusion Yusheng gone wrong. The ease of picking at and eating Yusheng shreds of vegetables have been taken away and replaced with large lettuce and spinach leaves with slices of bell peppers too. The one dish I usually look forward to during CNY feasts didn't live up to expectations. The only parts I enjoyed were the spring roll skin crisps (replaces the usual Yusheng crackers) tobiko and sauce which had a tangy citrus note and not super sweet so we kept adding more to the dish. This dish also included sliced purple cabbage and ikura which I feel didn't add much to the dish. If you're looking for a nice traditional Yusheng, this is not for you. But if you want a salad with the addition of salmon sashimi and tangy-sweet sauce… you should enjoy this.
