There are 2 stalls selling mala xiang guo and é¦é£é£ (the bigger stall) always has a crowd. They have an extensive selection of ingredients and å¤§č¾£ is shiok! Try asking for å¤ę±å°ę²¹! Most customers would pile up a whole plate of ingredients and share with their partners, families or friends.
Damage: $15.60
Arriving at 7pm on a Sunday evening and it wasn't as crowded as I had thought. However, it's still recommended to call and make a reservation. There is a large variety of food, especially seafood - crayfish that comes every 30 mins, flower crabs, mussels, oysters, scallops, squid, fish, prawns etc. And of course the typical marinated meat and vegetables. It's free flow drinks and ice cream too! We basically whacked the crayfish every now and then!
Just in case you were blur like us when we took our first serving of crayfish, you can actually ask the staff to help you cut the crayfish! It would sure save you a lot of time and effort. Damage: $35.20/pax
Visited the carnival just for the food. š¤£ The Dirty Fries ($6) were nothing fanciful and you can definitely skip that. Seafood in a Bucket ($15) was worth the try though. I liked the chilli crab sauce cos there was a spicy kick unlike many other chilli crab I had elsewhere. The okinawa tea was kinda light - would have loved it to be thicker. Wasabi mayo wings with nachos was not bad - the mid wings were HUGE, and there was a wasabi kick. They didn't give much cheese for the nachos though.
We wanted to try the meatballs but had to wait 40 mins! š£ Anyway if you are still heading there today, go to the Promonatary area because there are more food choices, more seating and more spacious!
First visit to Nando's and we went for the simplest item off the menu. Ordered the 1/4 chicken (Hot) with coleslaw and it comes with a drink (bottomless, I.e. free flow). The spicy level wasn't quite what I had expected. It was on the sour side. I would definitely order the Very Hot version next time. The coleslaw tasted jelat as the mayo was really rich. I would advise that you share the coleslaw with your friends or skip it!
Just in case you are new to Nando's like I am, they actually have the different sauces at the condiments section. Yay you can eat the chicken with a variety of sauces!
Craved for Popeyes and just walked into one outlet. The chicken pieces are served with the hot maple sauce drizzled over. You could easily smell the maple syrup and surprisingly, the sauce is a little spicy - can do with more spiciness though. The berry merry drink is basically berry syrup mixed with mountain dew - looks pretty pleasing to the eyes and tasted not too bad!
The chicken patty was a tad too dry and hard. Also, it wasn't spicy as described. Somehow, BBBS has been kinda disappointing for the 2 times I've tried. Damage for the burger: $13.90 nett
Birthday dinner at JPOT. The restaurant was relatively empty - in fact it was only half filled. The Tom yam soup base wasn't fantastic and is not worth a 2nd try next time. Wouldn't mind going for the herbal again. JPOT is actually quite an expensive option for hotpot since it's based on ala carte pricing. But definitely a cheaper alternative to HDL. Total damage after members discount: $35 per pax
Have been to this pizza chain 3 times in the last one year. All because of the delicious thin crust pizzas and of course the 1-for-1 deals on the Entertainer App! $24++ for 2 large pizzas and who's to say this ain't a good deal?
4 large pizzas, 1 calamari and 1 coke: total damage $65. What a steal!
Ivins comes to our minds whenever we crave for Peranakan food. The dishes come in small servings (suitable for 2 to 4 pax to share). Because of the small servings and relatively cheap price, one tends to order many dishes. The new menu list recommends 2 pax: 4 to 6 dishes, 3-4 pax: 6 to 8 dishes, 8 pax: 6 to 8 dishes of 2 each. Nonya Chap Chye (1st from bottom), Beef Rendang (3rd from bottom), and Honey Pork(not shown) are some of the popular dishes that customers usually order. Come early or make reservations!
Timbre+ is a great place to chill especially now that the dinner crowd is smaller as compared to when it first opened. This seafood paella simply looks too good!
Timbre+ is a great place to chill especially now that the dinner crowd is smaller as compared to when it first opened. This seafood paella serves 2 ladies and the serving is generous for only $16!
