I became a fan of the tendon ever since I first went to Japan. So i got overly zealous when i heard raving reviews about this place. Had to queue for about 30 mins during a weekend dinner hour. Do come earlier if you want to avoid the queue. There's a set meal available that comes with udon. But in my opinion, the tendon itself is enough to bloat your happy belly. The tempura is as impressive as it looks. Contains assorted veg, prawns and chicken fillet. Batter is crispy and not nua on the inside. The rice glisten like the mother of pearl rice. Not clumpy and the special tendon sweet sauce goes really well with it. The only ingredient missing here is the fried onsen egg which i deeply missed back in Japan. Personally i will root for this over Ginza Tendon.

The last time I had Tip Top curry puffs was many years ago. I didn't expect the curry puffs now are still as good as before, though they varied their traditional recipe for a distinct texture and taste. Other than the best selling chicken and sardine puff, Tip Top recently introduced the Nonya Beef Rendang puff which contains tender, chunky beef and it is well flavoured with all the lovely spices that hits the spot.

Usually The Curry Puff we eat is the frozen one. Found this at Tanjong Pagar Hawker Center. The Uncle who is now aged 76 still insisted on handmaking the curry puff. When u are there u have to find & follow the smell. He insisted using fresh ingredient to make the curry puff. Availiable in 2 type Curry Potatoes & Sardine. Uncle Deep Fried the curry puff so that customer can enjoy the puff piping hot.

Crust is good – firm and not doughy – but not perfect, and the filling isn’t mushy which works for me. This is at Toa Payoh, it’s not Tip Top from Ang Mo Kio.

This is the famous stall in AMK with a perpetual queue. I've heard so much about it but it was my first time trying it. Does it live up to its reputation? I think so.

The sauce is good, being thick but not too sweet, enhanced by nice fragrance from the sesame seeds. The ingredients are also indisputably fresh. And that soup was great! It's packed with soya beans and taste of ikan bilis, you can see the murkiness of that soup from this photo here.

Soya sauce chicken that's mind blowing good.

It's been a few days since our #BurppleAMKHawkers trail but I can still reminisce the exact taste from my first bite of this chicken.

Expect thick slices of juicy and succulent chicken that's been wonderfully doused in a well-balanced soya sauce marinade. I'll definitely bring my family here to try it! #burpproved
