Desserts To Try
But nothing beats the one at @thelokalsingapore, of course.
But this was pretty good, we both devoured it even though we whined about being stuffed.
Earl Grey Malt Loaf served with a scoop of Vanilla ice-cream and salted caramel drizzled on the plate. Cake was moist and dense with raisin-like bits within, perfumed with Earl grey aroma that was prominent in every bite that u take into the cake, while the outer crust of the cake is covered with sweet malt. Don't think the salted caramel was necessary though since its quite sweet, but definitely would appease the sweet tooth. You can also opt for the cake without the ice-cream at $5.50.
One of the best Durian Lava toast we have tasted! The thick, creamy, fragrant and chilling mao shan wang lava explodes from the crispy toast 👍🏻😋 Topped with the durian ice cream and bread crumbs, $14.90 was worth it. Suitable for 2 to share ✨ Definitely coming back again to try their other toast
One can only imagine the amount of kcals this packs, but for a dessert that is the antithesis of milquetoast, ignorance is bliss and they are required to live a little haha.
Pretty worth the calories, honestly. I hope to slightly exaggerate at best by saying this - the brioche possessed the softness and fluffiness akin to the highest grade cotton there is in existence. It easily soaked up the bounty of salted egg matcha sauce that finds itself gushing out of any opening in the charcoal toast. Needless to say, it tugged me at my heart strings. Couldn't really single out any taste of matcha in this though, but that's not surprising given how similar their taste and texture can be. Best to share this between two or more people though even if I…wolved this down all on my own. 😧 I came on an empty stomach of course, so that doesn't make me a glutton, right…? (7/10)

P.S. If you are an East-sider, first of all - congrats! We have something in common! Secondly, you might be excited to know that they opened another outlet at Joo Chiat recently. Yay for convenience. 😛
Featuring French Toast Waffle ($16.90) to welcome my favourite weekend!
Just the name alone excites me, with both of my favourite French toast and waffle combined as 1 dessert! Overall dessert tasted more like French toast in a waffle presentation; so expect it to be denser on the inside with crispy crust. Doused with condensed milk and cereals, it was also accompanied with a scoop of toasted marshmallow ice cream 😍

Amazing french toast waffles with chunks of fried banana, maple caramel sauce, sea salt caramel ice cream & wafer flakes. Coffee is 1 for 1 between 3 to 6 pm on weekdays.
Served with a scoop of earl grey ice cream 》$15.90
Finally got to get Taro Waffles ($15.9++)! Did not expect the waffle mix to be taro flavored too😄 Not sure why our taro sauce seemed a little darker than others.. Would like to try the French Toast Waffles too!
The matcha hotcakes is the bomb: sweet matcha fluid flowing out of a nice squishy malay-kueh-like cake. Super amazing. $16 and more than enough for 2. Skip the mains at this place, they're pretty normal and we think Grain Traders or Daily Cut is better.
Familiar, comforting & with a touch of playfulness, this is essentially a dream come true for every durian lovers out there like me. Using D24 fresh durian purée to generously layer up with white chocolate beneath the torched meringue, the two partners in crime are #relationshipgoals - great representation of bitter, sweet, aromatic, creamy, crusty & all kinds of beautiful in a tart. I'd take one please, anytime.

Def a favourite here.

Cafe hopping on weekends becomes so precious when you work 5 days a week and have school work to do. Probably will be missing brunches for a while.. (p.s foodies out there, feel free to hit me up too🍴😌)
Originally from Hokkaido, Milkissimo uses the finest milk from Hakodate City and fresh quality ingredients to churn out luscious gelato that's milky yet incredibly light so you don't feel too guilty for indulging. The gelato here scores full marks in flavour and isn’t overly sweet. They have standard flavours like Uji Matcha, Black Sesame Milk, Sakura and Fresh Corn and more interesting ones like Pineapple and Basil, Purple Sweet Potato and Pumpkin. Frappés are served here as well, but expect prices to be steeper than usual because of the imported premium ingredients.
