I loved how this has gula melaka and cornflakes to add to the flavour and extra crunch. The coconut ice cream was pretty fragrant, tasting a bit more rich like coconut milk than the usual refreshing coconut ice cream at chatuchak.

The Tofu Crystal Prawn was spicy and pretty simple. The tofu was egg tofu so it went with the spicy sauce well.

The braised pork knuckle is similar to what you can see in Yaowarat. The meat was tender and tasty but I thought this was pretty normal because it tastes like what I usually eat in Thailand.

The Royal Thai Seafood Porridge was really tasty with the rich and slightly spicy broth. It’s an additional $16 for the lobster. I really liked how this soup provided a balance for the yam fish soup and I enjoyed having both at once!

Soi Thai Soi Nice focuses on Thai-Teochew cuisine, similar to what you find in Yaowarat in Bangkok. This is the Royal Thai Fish Head hotpot for 2 (Fish Head left in for photo purposes, usually they cut it up for you). You get to choose from Fish Head or fish slices and a choice of soup base (yam fish, red tomyam, clear tomyam). We had the yam fish soup and it was simple but rich at the same time.

The Waterfall Deep Fried Pork Belly was spicy and slightly sour, making it very refreshing. The pork belly was tender with some parts of the skin being crispy as well.

What’s exclusive to this outlet is the mookata. It was decent with a variety of materials of good quality. However this didn’t stand out much to me, a plus point is getting to eat mookata in a comfortable environment though.

Visited @thaifestsg and got to eat a lot of yummy Thai food! This was tasty plus the meat was tender too, it wasn’t dry as well!

Visited @thaifestsg and got to eat a lot of yummy Thai food! It was really good indeed. The grilled squid complemented the tomyam fried rice flavours and went well with the seafood chilli too 😋

Visited @thaifestsg and got to eat a lot of yummy Thai food! These tasted like typical comfort food and were very flavourful. It reminded me of times in Thailand as well 😌

Visited @thaifestsg and got to eat a lot of yummy Thai food! We got pork leg rice from Baan Ying and the meat was tender plus the rice was fragrant too.

Came back to Ah Loy Thai after not visiting for quite a long time and it’s nice to see that the food is still good! The butter calamari ($9.40) was so shiok, the mango chicken ($9.30) was fragrant and the tom yam fried rice ($8.90) was flavourful with a hint of spice to it. So happy that their standards are still kept and it was satisfying still 😋
