The original Ya Kun stall located at far east square, the coffee here which is not too bitter (kopi o kosong),or the kaya toast is crispy outside, yet butter is melting within my mouth. This effort all began with the man came from Hainan Dao.
Starting up my sat with a cup of kopi o kosong and kaya butter bread.

A good aroma cup, but shall go with thick toast instead of this thin layer toast but their kaya is great, especially drink with kopi o kosong.
Not toast but granny pancake.
standing out in crowd, not an original cup.
My brother and I would often be the first two to wake up so as to catch our favourite cartoons on TV. (now we are the last to wake up 😂) All of us would then go to the nearest hawker centre in the neighbourhood to have our usual breakfast.
Breakfast would be a simple affair, my mum and dad usual order of Kopi-O while me and my brother would definitely be Milo-Bing! Most of the time, given our small appetite, my mum would order 2 soft boiled eggs for us. The soft boiled egg would come without the shells. It would be a normal routine for us to add the dark soya sauce and pepper, and chop the egg yolks and whites up! My mum would nag at us if we add too much soya sauce. (AIYO TOO SALTY!) Me and my brother would then compete who would finish the eggs first as we shove the plates to our mouth and drink the eggs as if water. As memories fade, I don't remember who actually won. But it's these small memories that you remember and not really the results. #hawkerpedia
One of the biggest headaches on having breakfast at a big hawker centre is to get the right cuppa from the right store. Recommended by MissTamchiak, my mum made sure she hunted it down. And boy, both the coffee and tea were so fragrant!!! It had a lingering aroma that stayed in your mouth every sip. The toasts were pretty decent - just think, thicker Ya Kun toasts with a similar Kaya spread. Do come early to skip the queues!
Seem like i had been teleported back to the day, when how kopi is brew by our grandparent era and the surrounding is simply like 1930.
Loved the way how the toast present, it served warm and the butter melt into my mouth, when a bite on to it.
Simple kaya butter bun,but it always feel comforting, when this is the kind of breakfast is serve.
Very rare, to see espresso machine in the hawker, to make a cup of good kopi with affordable price.
Nothing beats a cup of hot coffee and toast, for morning breakfast.
