A letao look-alike matcha double fromage cake that obviously scored higher in terms of flavour✨ . The cake was adorned with green tea sponge crumbles, with an interior of two distinctive layers of matcha cream and a cream cheese mousse, ending off with a green tea crumble base. Adding on to the matcha goodness is the addition of a matcha honey sauce and matcha powder(swipe to view) for you to spam onto the cake that’s so match-a delight💚. Unlike its sister counterpart, the matcha flavour here was much more distinctive, with a lingering earthy, bitter undertone in the smooth, creamy matcha cream. The cream cheese mousse was also soft, creamy and light, luscious and not too overwhelming. What I also adore about this double fromage was the presence of a green tea crumble base that added a pleasant crisp factor. Dusted with green tea sponge crumbles, I simply couldn’t help spamming the matcha powder and thick matcha sauce (same as the one drizzled on their softserve) onto the cake. My only gripe was its small portion that limited my duration of enjoyment 🙈.

As part of @stmarcsingapore ‘s 5th anniversary promotions, ALL parfaits, wa-bowls, shaved ice and chocoro box are going at $5 each just for 29 and 30 Jan! Cheers to no more monday blues ✌🏻✨. The Kyoto delight parfait comprises of Hokkaido milk softserve, a scoop of matcha ice cream, kinako warabi mochi, shiratama, cheese cake cubes, red beans (which I had omitted) beneath a pile of cornflakes and drizzled with kuromitsu sauce. The milk softserve was smooth and creamy with a fragrant milky flavour whereas the matcha ice cream had a pleasant earthy flavour and a subtle bitter undertone. This came as a pleasant surprise as I wasn’t expecting the matcha flavour to be distinct initially. The warabi mochi was chewy, soft and wobbly with a texture resembling a hybrid of rice cake and pudding. Adding on to the chewy factor were the shiratama dango balls as well! My favourite topping here would be the cheese cake cubes that came with a crisp, buttery crust atop a soft, creamy and luscious cheesecake. Not a fan of the pile of cornflakes though, despite the crunch factor it contributed as many may have deemed mandatory (not so for me) .

Served with mango&passionfruit froyo and speculoos crumble, I decided to opt for a swap to maple lavender frozen yogurt since I wasn’t really a huge fan of mango & passionfruit. The matcha mochi waffles had a slightly crisp and caramelised exterior, coupled with a soft, chewy mochi interior - swipe to the end to view, that’s uniquely different from the usual soft, fluffy interior of a Belgian waffle. If you’ve noticed, the waffles were made to shape like a 🎄 to suit the theme, plus points to the presentation! ✨ The maple lavender frozen yogurt was smooth and slightly creamy, with a lingering, aromatic floral fragrance which I really adore 💖. As the mango & passionfruit flavour was out of stock, my dining partner opted for the lychee rose flavour which was refreshing as well, with a fruity sweetness and subtle floral fragrance. Personally prefer the maple lavender flavour though as the lychee rose was a tad too sweet for my liking. Nevertheless, the highlight here remains the crisp and chewy matcha waffles, that surprisingly had a distinct and lingering characteristic earthy note and a bitter undertone💚 . Would have been great if the serving of froyo was more generous :P .

My first try on kakigori and I am sorry to admit that I would still very much prefer softserve over this! 😅 Though the ice wasn’t coarse and was actually snowflake-like which resembled the korean bingsu, it does not retain its rigidity as well as a bingsu and liquefied pretty fast. Usually not a fan of cream, but I do fancy this matcha flavoured espuma that’s fluffy and cotton-like, with a distinct flavour and subtle lingering fragrance. Dig into the heap of kakigori to unveal dark chocolate cocoa nibs that added a crisp factor and a bittersweet flavor to the semi-solid dessert. The Nama chocolate mint sauce had a subtle lingering minty flavour which is cooling and refreshing, a good companion to the luscious and rich cocoa flavour. 💜 Adorned with an exterior polished, Snow White cream coating, the cake came in a pretty huge and thick slice, with purple sweet potato mousse sandwiched between two alternating layers of purple sweet potato chiffon-like sponge. The purple sweet potato mousse was my favourite element here, with a creamy texture and a luscious, pleasant tinge of characteristic sweetness. The sponge was soft and fluffy, not too dry and well balanced with a thin layer of smooth, cotton-like cream. Simply can’t get over this cake and I even polished off the entire portion all by myself despite having a heavy lunch prior to this 🙈.

The green tea latte, on the other hand, was decent but too milky for my liking. Thankfully it wasn’t too sweet though the matcha flavour could have been more distinct. However, I do adore the fact that a thick matcha shot was served at the side for one to self adjust the intensity. Personally I would very much prefer to consume the shot in silo instead as it didn’t have much significant effect when incorporated into the warm matcha latte.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with a welcoming, vibrant ambience that’s great to chill and hang out with your friends or for some me-time. There’s also 2 levels available for dining, both decked with lush greenery and an eco-friendly theme. Swipe to view the interior! 🌿🍀🌱 Hopefully there would be an outlet here in the near future? 👉🏻👈🏻

😉 As part of the Christmas offerings, @starbuckssg has came up with a new creation: Dark mocha frappe with GREEN TEA WHIPPED CREAM 😍💚. Since I’m not a coffee drinker (and will avoid it due to the aftermath of insomnia cum headache) but was tempted by the green tea infused whipped cream, I decided to change the base of the beverage to matcha soy frappe. Requested for 2x the matcha powder too, being a hardcore matchaholic 😂. Had initially opted for no sugar and syrup but was told that it was not possible for this request to achieve the creamy, thick texture in an ice blended beverage. Hence I had to make do with LESS sugar/syrup but it was unfortunately still too sweet for my liking that I had to dilute it by myself by adding my own ice cubes 😅. However, having 2x the matcha shot, the characteristic earthy undertone of matcha was no doubt more distinct. The whipped cream was light, airy with a subtle lingering earthy fragrance too. The texture of the frappe could have been thicker though, with perhaps a reduction in syrup added. The whipped cream had a pretty short lifespan as well (swipe to view) hence highly recommended to consume it in silo (prior to drinking) or if not, let it mix along with the frappe .

Although the sugar level isn’t customizable as the iced matcha latte are premixed, the characteristic earthy note was still distinct and lingering, with a subtle sweetness. Hardcore matchaholics might find this a little sweet and weak for their liking but it should very match-a suffice for typical, neutral consumers 💚.

✨ Unfortunately yesterday was the last day for the promotion but hopefully there would be other upcoming promotions yea? XD A few of the popular flavours include pistachio (top seller), hazelnut, coconut, fruit based ones eg lemon & basil, strawberry - as mentioned by the staff but being a hardcore matchaholic, I can never say NO when there’s matcha flavour displayed right in front of my sight 😅. What’s more, with this great deal, I decided to get 2 cups for myself too! Thank god there’s no such limit of 1 cup/ customer 👍🏻! The gelato here are freshly churned with a thick, smooth creamy texture that I adore totally. The matcha flavour was surprisingly distinct, with a subtle lingering characteristic earthy bitter undertone. On the other hand, the hazelnut was one that surprisingly got me hooked on, with a lingering nutty, roasted flavour that was fragrant! ✨ One cup is definitely not enough for me and I was glad to have gotten 2! However if given the choice I would certainly not mind forgoing my diet plans and ordering more 🙈. Looking forward to try their other flavours as well as waffles next time! 😋 .

Though prices are pretty steep, hardcore matchaholics would be glad to know that quality is definitely not compromised here, with top grade of Matcha used - as the name suggests as well 😅. True enough, the intense umami and earthy flavour was a lingering one that possessed a characteristic bitter undertone, one that might be an acquired experience for some. As a hardcore matchaholic, I truly appreciate the robust earthy umami flavour that packs a punch! 💚 The texture was also creamy and thick, retaining its semi-solid shape well and long enough for my shots📸. “Hurry and eat it before it melts!” exclaimed the crew (whom I assumed is the owner) who witnessed me spending a long time in taking photos 🙈. Despite that the softserve was really obedient and allowed me to slowly savour and relish it in its semi-solid state. Half cup was definitely no kick for me, perhaps I would opt for the full serving for myself next time 😜 . Hopefully houjicha can replace the current Nishio matcha softserve for a twist 🙏🏻. (PS: sorry for the spam, was really indecisive on the ideal picture and hence I decided to just unleash my Matcha obsession 💚😂) .

Thanks so match-a @shotsandscoopssg for the heads up and I m glad I managed to satisfy my cravings from my previous failed visit 😅. And much to my pleasant surprise, there’s also a new ice cream flavour- HOUJICHA! 💛 Matcha ice cream was also churned on that very same day but still undergoing fine-tuning and hence not available for sale at the moment. No doubt houjicha was my pick for the flavours, along with raspberry lychee rose for a refreshing (and colour) contrast. The ice cream are all homemade, freshly churned with a smooth, creamy consistency and a pleasant melt-in-the mouth texture. The houjicha ice cream managed to meet up to my expectations, with a distinctive and lingering roasted flavour and aroma that I totally adore. Intensity was spot on, though of course as a hardcore houjicha fan, I would certainly not mind a stronger roasted flavour. On the other hand, the raspberry lychee rose was tangy, a sweet fruity note coupled with a subtle floral aroma. On the downside, the matcha waffle had barely any hint of the characteristic earthy flavour, despite the promising green hues in the batter (swipe to the end to view). However, the texture was an ideal one that was consistent (judging from my previous try on their buttermilk waffle), with a crisp exterior and a soft, fluffy interior that carried a lingering buttery fragrance of batter. Looking forward to try the matcha ice cream next time, which I believe would be more prominent in flavour as compared to the waffles! .

Intricately layered, every element was a significant contributor to the visuals and of course, palate if you are a matchaholic! The matcha ice cream was smooth, creamy with a distinctive flavour and a lingering jasmine-like floral fragrance. Though it lacks the characteristic bitter undertone that I would have adore, the sweetness was just right without being too milky. The matcha cake was soft, fluffy and cotton-like, with the matcha cream adding a mandatory moisture that’s smooth and light. Coupled with a pleasant crunch factor from the matcha granola, I was pleasantly surprised by its significant appearance, being a fan of this brand that I would always purchase it in bulk from the commercial stores. The granola also came with dried strawberries as well as fresh strawberries that added a tangy note, a slight acidity as a counterbalance to the other sweeter elements. Lastly, the matcha and yuzu jelly nestled comfortably at the base were soft, wobbly, without much distinct flavours though. IMO it would have been a better option having the ice cream present in separate layers for the parfait ie. both at the top and base or in the middle otherwise boredom might start kicking in once it’s gone from the start.

My third time here for this but this time trying out the chiffon cake. A matcha cream filled chiffon cake that's topped with Azuki beans, the vanilla sponge was soft, fluffy and cotton-like, with a smooth, creamy matcha filling that could have been more distinct in flavour. Or perhaps it's overshadowed by its strong competitor - the softserve. Having tried the flavours in silo prior to this, I personally preferred the twist with the combination of an earthy umami flavour of uji matcha coupled and a lingering aromatic roasted flavour combined into one, a true matchmake in heaven 💖. The uji matcha softserve came drizzled with a thick, deep dark green matcha sauce (which was absent during my first try) that enhanced and boosted the earthy factor. (PS: last chance to get this is on 4 October! Hurry and head down now to the ongoing Takashimaya fair before this annual affair ends!) Btw, there was already a queue forming on a Sunday noon 🙈.
