1. Spring Labs - Too bad 早尚好 and Tropique are closed on an eve of PH, we had to resort to sandwich from The Locals - school of coffee which made us waited for 45 mins! This is despite not having a cafe full of people, how efficient! Furthermore, my sour plum drink is only half full.
2. Next stop was 大四喜 for some dim sums. We had at least 12 plates with drinks at only 20RM per person! What a steal right?
3. And if you’re finding a place to chill, @peopleandplacescafe could just be your ideal location for coffee and resting your legs. We had the fruity smoothie bowl with their homemade peanut butter, banana and figs. This is quite a satisfying and healthy snack.
4. For dinner, maybe some seafood porridge and more seafood? At Matang Seafood, savour the sweetness of the seafoods through the claypot of porridge. Trust me, you can’t stop scooping more into your bowl because it’s pretty guilt free way to enjoy the cholesterol loaded ingredients. But it’s really worth it!
5. Austin offers many dessert and Instagram worthy cafes which open till as late as 1-2am. Go on down to Just Want Coffee, The Factory 30 where we had their sizzling brownie and drinks.

Well, there is no burgers in this restaurant but there’s fries. This is actually a fusion of korean and western cuisine incorporating the best of both worlds in a plate. For example, this spicy spaghetti is called Pasta de Dakgalbi ($16.90). Imagine spaghetti coated in dak galbi (yoogane equivalent) with gooey mozzarella. This is mouthwatering but not for the faint hearted, the spiciness is no joke. The other must try is the Waterfall Cheese Shrimp ($13.90), yes I need to get more cheesy. Pour over the cheese onto the scrumptious prawns, one of the most memorable cheese dish in my life. Usually, I get ‘jelat’ (sick of it) when it’s too much but this, I just can’t stop putting more prawns into my mouth. Now I understand the word foodgasm even better. They have also got other hot favourites such as mac and cheese topped with crispy potato strips, the rosti and beef as well as the creamy curry beef. I’ve yet to try them all, but it won’t take Long. With over 10 choices, you can have foie gras, beef steak, salmon and also the avocado kimchi tamago. There’s a thing about their bowls here - scrambled egg which is a must to add. The layers of fluffy scrambled eggs is exactly what we are looking for, soul food indeed. Sides such as the salmon avocado taco is also a healthy snack to share with your dinner date. The downside is that their rice was a bit too mushy and the taco was actually... papadum?!? Wondering if they ran out of tacos and borrowed the papadums from the Indian restaurant beside?
