Thought the meal was off to a good start with the Beef Tartare and I was absolutely right. The Bone Marrow was bloody amazing, if I can say so. Rich, decadent and soft, the bone marrow was almost butter-like, where you easily scraped a teaspoon worth of the gelatin-like marrow, and spread it across the grilled toast with Portobello Roasted Pine Nuts, Crumbs, Parsely. The flavours are full on and memorable, and pairs well with the wine we ordered, where the bold tannins help to cleanse the palate so that it doesn't become overwhelmingly rich.
a dimly lit, modern bistro nestled among the many shophouses in Telok Ayer. Started off with Tartare, which is mixed with the usual combination of capers, shallot and gherkins. It was extremely flavourful, though it comes with a comforting lightness to it. Pairing it with the crisp bread on the side, it was simply spectacular and if I didn't have to share the bread with my dining companions, I would have made a beef tartare sandwich myself.
Moving on to their Signature dish, the Seafood Feast. As the name suggests, this was quite the feast with a variety of crustaceans thrown in. The seafood was fresh and packed with sweet, oceanic flavours, with the sauce adding more oomph to it.
Ended off with Mentaiko Salmon w Broccolis which didn’t disappoint too! Salmon with umami Mentaiko piled on top, with a generous dollop of tobiko on the side. They do have happy hour and their tower of beer is going at a pretty affordable rate so do bring along some friends with you!
If you’d like something more customised, you could Build Your Own dish by choosing your choice of mains and carbs. We went with their chef’s recommendation of Wagyu Ribeye and mashed potato to go along with it. The result was a nice rust-red shade of ribeye cooked till a pleasant medium rare, which was tender and juicy to say the least. The accompanying sauce was what gild the lily.
Looking for a nice place to wind down with your friends after a day’s worth of work? Why not give Hidey Hole a try?
A hole in the wall, you’ll be greeted by lots of bear bricks the moment you enter the door. Was fortunate enough to try a couple of dishes off their menu:
Started off with some Fried Enoki which was freaking amazing. Fried to a crisp golden brown, it remained nice and crisp despite us taking some time with the shots 📸 addictive, I’d say this makes for a great finger food to go with beer!
What’s your favourite meal of the day? If yours is brunch then you’re in for a treat! Supply & Demand has recently launch their Around-The-World Brunch Menu where you get to try brunch dishes inspired from other countries!
Started my meal with some Freshly Shucked Oysters from USA 🇺🇸 with some drops of lemon and a hit of Tabasco. Envy yet? 🤣
The Shrimp Gambas was pretty decent as well, with the prawns saute in buttery garlic and onions, served with salsa for a tangy contrast. Best part was that you can easily pull apart the prawns from its shell using cutleries so the dining experience pretty much remains fuss free!

Well, tried to made the best of the Famous Fajitas by adding more cheese and sour cream into my tortilla before I wrapped them all up to amp up the flavour since the protein was lacking in that. Worked a little, but could be better!
What was once a lively place rocking with music is now rather quiet due to the Covid-19 restrictions. If you're around the 'hood, do drop by and redeem your Burpple Beyond 1 - 1, their ribs are definitely worth it and an absolutely good deal!
Had the Famous Fajitas next, which comprises of fresh pico de gallo, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, housemade guacamole, sour cream and warm tortillas. Had the duo combo where the chicken and sirloin steak arrived on a sizzling hot grill plate and was pretty excited but found both proteins to be on the drier side, with the steak noticeably chewy.
Have never set foot in Hard Rock despite knowing of their existence all my life but boy do I regret not coming earlier for their Baby Back Ribs. These ribs looked tantalising when they were placed before me, glistening in all its glory under the light. Coated with a sticky, caramelised glossy glaze with a lovely charred finish, the meat has thoroughly absorbed the smoky - sweet aroma of the homemade BBQ sauce and achieved a fall off the bone tenderness which I absolutely adored. Served with seasoned fries, coleslaw and ranch-style beans, the portion is recommended for 2, though I felt it could easily feed 4 if you order other dishes to go along.
