NEW flavour of the week : Spanish strawberry 🍓 ! Was initially quite skeptical about this flavour as I was afraid it would taste artificially sweet but my doubts were gone instantly the moment I tasted it. The strawberry flavour is attuned towards the sour side, without any artificial sweetness or so, with a tangy, fruity note that was refreshing! ✨ I chose the mixed flavour (strawberry and original twist) which turned out to be a great combination, with both flavours blending in harmoniously. As usual, cookie sauce was my pick that always did not disappoint 💖. Love how the frozen yogurt at Wisma outlet was able to retain its shape and texture well and didn’t melt as fast, allowing prolonged enjoyment 😋. There’s also new addition to the crunch toppings too as compared to its ancestor Lllaollao such as vanilla wafer biscuit, dinosaur cookies, butter heart-shaped cookies etc .
[PS: Strawberry flavour is available till 25th Feb, before it makes way for another new flavour launch / comeback of a previous flavour] .

This was surprisingly one that didn’t disappoint and wasn’t overwhelmingly saccharine as I had expected, with a distinct matcha flavour and fragrance, coupled with a subtle, mild lingering earthy bitter undertone. A smooth, thick and viscous texture that allowed prolonged enjoyment as well 💚. The green tea kitkat had unfortunately lost its crispness whereas the brownie was a little dry for my liking, would prefer if it’s denser and more fudgy instead. A sinful but worthy indulgence that’s highly recommended for sharing - unless you have a really sweet tooth or you are consuming this for a meal😅 . [PS: Only available on weekend brunch menu!] .

Believe it or not, this is actually my first time trying this burger as I seldom eat fast food and since most eateries were closed during CNY, I had to make do with fast food chains instead. Not trying to be exaggerating but this is definitely and officially my favourite Macdonald’s burger (for now)! ✨ One that I wouldn’t mind having it again. Encased within 2 soft and fluffy brioche lies a deep fried chicken patty that’s done to a crisp perfection, with a lingering fragrance of buttermilk. The interior was tender, succulent as well! Topped with pineapple slices, crunchy purple cabbage slaw and fresh, crisp butterhead lettuce beneath the thick patty, it was a sinful yet worthy indulgence! 😋 Thank god it’s a permanent item in the menu and I can have this again anytime and anyday when craving kicks in 😌 .

NEW mystery flavour launched in conjunction with Valentine’s Day! 💖 Available exclusively at Icon Village outlet and only available for a limited time, the white chocolate softserve contains raspberry sauce and frozen raspberry slices layered between, garnished with dark chocolate powder. Not a fan of white chocolate (would personally prefer dark and bitter chocolates in general) but this was not too bad, smooth, creamy and slightly milky. Though this might be overwhelmingly saccharine for some, especially those without a sweet tooth but the presence of the raspberry sauce was a great counterbalance to cut through the sweetness with its tangy, acidic notes. Paling in comparison, the dark chocolate shavings didn’t did much significant effect to alleviate the milky sweetness, perhaps due to its negligible presence. My favourite component of this would be the frozen raspberries with its characteristic burst of tangy, fruity and berry sour notes ✨.

Stuffed with minced seafood filling and diced turnips for the added crunch, the outer layer of dumpling skin was soft, thin and flimsy as well! Thickness was just right with a balanced proportion of ingredients within. The seafood elements are also fresh, with my personal favourite being the scallop with its well seasoned flavour and a slightly chewy, juicy texture. .

Though I am personally not a fan of bubble tea in general, I was sold the moment I had my first sip of this beverage. With a base of brown sugar and freshly made-in-house boba pearls, this is uniquely different from the typical, conventional bubble milk tea as it comes with chilled fresh milk instead! The fresh milk had a Meiji-alike dairy aroma which I adore and when it’s mixed in with the brown sugar base, the sweetness comes as a pleasant sensation that’s refreshing and not too overwhelming. The bite-sized pearls were soft and slightly chewy , not too starchy (which is what I always dread and loathe in other bubble teas). Having tried this beverage in Taiwan , I must admit though the price is much steeper here, the quality is comparable! ✨ .

The tart shell was firm and crisp as well! 💕 Having tried both versions at room temperature and hot, I personally prefer the latter where the bittersweet profile of the chocolate was more distinct .

Served with ten sauce, sambal mayo and coco mayo, these chicken wings are deep fried to a crisp golden brown exterior, with an interior of tender, succulent meat within (swipe to view). I personally prefer pairing these wings with sambal mayo among all the sauces, for an addition of spice! Though exterior is crisp and the meat is tender, I would personally prefer if there’s an incorporation of har jeong kai (prawn paste) for a more flavourful and fragrant profile. The tempura batter was crisp, with a dense and compact interior of savoury luncheon meat and sweet potato sticks, this was a really additive appetizer that me and my dining partner couldn’t stop singing praises for (and laying our hands on)! ✨ Though I would have personally preferred for the sauce to be served separately (to prevent sogginess to the crisp batter), the sambal and coco mayo was creamy, flavourful and fragrant! The latter had a subtle lingering coconut fragrance that provided a dimension of flavours to a typical creamy and rich mayonnaise. On the other hand, the sambal mayo had a mild tinge of spiciness, a more savoury note in contrast to the coco mayo. Though the additional of poached egg might seem a little redundant here, I do adore the fact that it comes with a fragile, runny yolk that could also act as a dipping sauce for the “fries” 😉. Savoury luncheon meat and naturally sweetened sweet potato - a harmonious combination of sweet and savoury indeed 👍🏻 .

Tendon? Why not both?!😉 With a creative and unique fusion of Local and Japanese cuisine, the folks at @nasicocosg (also under the same brand as @goodchancepopiah and @hawkermansg), it was certainly both a supreme feast for the sight and sense with the generous and fulfilling portion! ✨ With your choice of ten sauce or yuzu sauce, each plate comprises of a wide variety of tempura battered elements ranging from assorted vegetables (shiitake mushrooms, ladyfingers, eggplant, lotus roots, long beans) to luncheon meat, chicken, prawns and a lava egg as well! 💕All these tendon components are adorned with a golden brown tempura batter that was done to an ideal crisp perfection, with a delightful crunch to the bite. My favourite components would be the luncheon meat that had a pleasant tinge of savoury saltiness as well as the shiitake mushroom that retained its juiciness coupled with a characteristic earthy note. Along with the essential Nasi lemak elements- peanuts, Ikan bilis, cucumber slices and the main highlight (for me) - sambal chilli, the coconut rice was fluffy and really fragrant, garnished with tempura sprinkles for an additional crunch, it was already great in silo without the need for any other condiments. On the other hand, the ten sauce had a tangy, smoky flavour which resembled a tonkatsu sauce thats usually used for pairing with deep fried cutlet in Japanese cuisine. Not quite a fan of it as I personally find it didn’t blend it well with the Nasi lemak/tendon but the yuzu sauce provided a citrusy flavour with a refreshing note, a good counterbalance to the other sinful and heavy elements. The sambal chilli has a distinct and lingering spiciness that was not too overwhelming (at least so for me) with a subtle umami fragrance from the hae-bi (fried shrimps) incorporated within. A great companion to the soft, fluffy and fragrant coconut rice indeed! 👍🏻 .
[PS: There’s a 1-for-1 ongoing promotion for this dish from now till 28 Feb. Even without this promotion, it was still really worth it, given the generous portion that could have easily feed 2 (ladies)] .

Uji matcha nama softserve [$7] My 2nd time having it during the fair and the matcha softserve is now topped off with a matcha crunch biscuit 💚. Having the matcha flavour in silo allows me to fully savour the earthy, bitter undertones that was more distinct and lingering as compared to the twist I had the other time. However, it was still much less intense and robust as compared to the previous year’s fair. Perhaps they have tweaked the recipe to suit the majority’s palate but still... I missed that deep, earthy bitter undertone 😭. The matcha crunch added a pleasant crisp factor to the soft and slightly creamy softserve, though flavour wise, it was overshadowed by the stronger counterpart and main highlight. For the hardcore matchaholics out there, do check out this softserve that would leave u with not match-a regret before the fair ends on 13 feb! A pre valentine’s day treat for your loved ones too, maybe? 😉. On a side note, thanks to the friendly male staff who acceded to my request of having a taller and nicer swirl for my photos, which is definitely much more photogenic and presentable as compared to my first try (refer to my previous few post) .
