asian black pepper wagyu beef rice bowl - a mix of brown and white rice, grilled wagyu beef 😍, homemade black pepper sauce, an onsen egg, and greens that change on a daily basis. all for only $6.50 and this is my favourite at @tastystreetsg! do pick up their advice to mix everything together, especially the onsen egg, and eat it like a bibimbap to get a lot more flavour in each mouthful. other varieties include iberico lor bah and truffle hotplate tofu chicken rice bowls, or you can also choose to create your own bowl.

we got to try the new maki rolls at @yubahut and the cream cheese mentaiko aburi maki roll is the besttttt! all thanks to the geniuses at @brandcellar and @yubahut who decided to try putting unagi and slightly torched salmon within/on sushi rice roll, *smother* cream cheese mentaiko sauce on it, then top it with tempura crumbs 😍 the other new rolls are century egg aburi maki roll and their champion aburi maki roll. the champion one is actually also good but I don't like the layer of chicken floss on it. (it's me, my fault)

hoho @cweizhi tyvm for extending the invitation to me. dinner last thursday was sooooo good and I just got hungry as I'm writing this 🤤

I haven't had good wanton noodles in a while.. then I chanced upon this stall in the most timely manner! The most remarkable components were the noodles and char siew. The egg noodles was fresh, had the right balance of springiness and firmness, and did not reek of alkali. The char siew was soft and tender and they were also very generous with it.

The wanton noodles are sold at $3.50 and $4.50 portions. They also have other varieties like dumpling and shredded chicken noodles on the menu.

And as a bonus, the uncle taking orders is extremely friendly - definitely sets the mood right for breakfast or lunch 😍

Charcoal Thai's mookata buffet has Thai boat noodles, and other kinds of staple, as part of their buffet menu! However, this is only available at their Clementi 321 outlet.

Another hidden gem offering affordable Thai food! Here we have tom yam seafood, minced beef with basil leaves, and green curry chicken. Everything had the right amount of Thai element in it, yet wasn't too spicy! The staffs weren't exactly very friendly, but they did their job sufficiently so who cares. 😂

Very authentic Thai food at very reasonable prices!
