This miso ramen with chicken charshu and spicy crab paste is great, but the regular miso with tori karaage is still #1 in my books.

Yup, I went back for my chicken karaage. Had it with miso ramen + gyoza. The default filling for their gyoza is fish, which tasted like sardines, which I didn't like and will not be ordering again.

While settling the bill, I told the waiter I always struggle to finish the ramen because the portion is too much for me. He said that I can order a mini serving of their ramen bowl. Sianz. I only saw mini rice bowls on the menu, I thought they didn't have that for ramen. Chawanmushi is also available but not listed in the menu. Errr ok.

Miso ramen + gyoza $13.80
Tori karaage $5.50
Ocha (hot green tea) $1

Lunch with a dear friend who was kind enough to come visit me in the west. Sorry bout the messy layout, pic was taken in a hurry because hungry almost reaching hangry level.

My 2nd time here is much better than the first. I couldn't stop slurping the miso ramen which came with my all-time favourite chicken karaage (left of pic). The chicken is crispy and juicy with a bit of sweetness from the batter. 3 pieces wasn't enough, I should have tapau-ed back another serving because I'm still. thinking. about. it. 😣

Lunch offerings are (very) limited.Visit them during dinner hours for their full menu.

I think the food is reasonably priced, but I was taken aback by the prices of drinks. The cheapest is $6 for flavoured sodas, even a standard Coke. And the drinking glass served is quite petite. It goes up to $8 and $14 for fresh jufices and mocktails. Just FYI.

I enjoyed my first visit enough to come back again, definitely during dinner time to try their skewers and grilled items. I'll also have to choose if I want to sit upstairs or by the gorgeous bar setup. Decisions, decisions.

For lunch, their rice bowls come with free miso soup, salad and free-flow hot green tea.We gasped a little when they put this bowl on our table. What a nice and appetizing presentation!

Thank goodness it tastes as good as it looks. The salmon, rice, soup and salad were all approved by my lunch buddy. She struggled to finish the generous portions too.

Since I didn't eat much of this, I want to talk a bit about their service. I regret not asking for the name of the waiter in green baju melayu. Yes, they were all dress in baju kurung that day, so cute and festive! Our waiter was very attentive and kept his eye on the 1st floor tables. I mean, how many times have we encountered wait staff who are standing right in front of us, but their eyes and mind have wandered off to a land far far away? So, good sir in the green baju melayu, thanks for your service.

I started off by tasting the beef slices. It's peppery with a bit of char, and sliced thinly so it's easy to eat. I liked it so much that I set some aside on a plate so the flavours wouldn't get lost in the soup.

The soup itself was light but really savoury. I like that the udon was firm but not too chewy. I couldn't stop eating this until the last 1/4 of the bowl as the portion was simply too generous. One of the more excellent soupy noodles dishes I've ever had.

It's Japanese for me. I wanted something like a bowl of ramen, so I decided to give this new place a try.

For starters, my lunch buddy and I shared this plate of prawn dumpling. I do love the texture - steamed then lightly pan fried. Too bad I couldn't taste any prawn flavour. Maybe the chicken option would have a stronger flavour. The chilli dipping sauce saved this dish - spicy, savoury and so addictive.
