Tamago Spicy Tonkotsu (Hosomen) at Sō 創 (Tai Seng)...🍜

Decent ramen found at BreadTalk IHQ...

I would say the spicy tonkotsu is just mildly spicy, a tad bit oily though...

You would expect one ajitsuke tamago, one slice of chashu, bamboo shoots, spring onion and spicy minced meat with the special noodle (hosomen)...

Initially thought the thin noodle (as thin as mee-gia) would be soggy but I was wrong, the noodle is not bad actually...

As for the ajitsuke tamago and chashu, they are nice but not much surprises, it’s like erm...normal lo...

Well, hope it can be more spicy and less oily...

Overall not bad, can try if you are around the area (Tai Seng MRT) but personally feel that it doesn’t worth travelling all the way just to makan this...

Mazemen Kuro (level 2 spiciness) at 300 Boru (三百碗)🍜

Back here for their signature dry ramen! Super satisfying and I wonder why isn’t this a hit ($6.90 nia leh!)🤣

The chashu (1 sliced only) is nicely marinated, with one side torched and the other side soft and tender...
I gobbled up this chashu including the bui-bui part (fatty meat, which I will usually remove it), just yum!😋

Now abt the ramen, the noodle that I had today is springy and it is kinda thick (not like the usual soup ramen), this I like, the noodle is just like 生面 (if anyone knows what’s that)...😆

The onsen egg, spring onion and pickled cabbage, with the spicy sauce (there are different levels of spiciness from none to level 3 for you to choose from), are just bonus to the dry ramen...🍜

Mine is level 2 spiciness, according to the shop owner, is chilli padi kind of spiciness, do check with the owner if you have any doubt...😊

The shop itself can accommodate abt 18pax I think, relatively small space, dim lights, not very noticeable as it shared the space with Geisha Specialty Coffee...

It’s located at the back of Burlington Square, the shop entrance is facing the roadside, opp Lasalle, nearest MRT is Rochor, also walkable from Bugis MRT...

Damage: $6.90 (no GST, no svc charge)

Overall, for the ramen and price, I think I will be back again...

Kazan Karamiso Ramen (with rice) [S-size] at Tonkotsu Kazan Ramen🍜

Wow factor is there when the volcano ramen was served to me...mind you, the ramen was served in a stone bowl (like bibimbap kind) and it's like 300 degree Celsius (piping hot that is!)...

I kinda like the broth, not as salty as I expected...those who's afraid that it will be very spicy, fret not, the spiciness is totally acceptable, in fact, I thought it can be spicier...🙊

As for the noodle, not the usual thin ramen, but oh yes, it's like the lor-mee kind of noodle, flat and thicker than the normal ramen noodle (but without the 鹼味)...probably because it's flat and thick, the noodle doesn't go soggy that easily in the stone bowl...

A point to add, there's a lot of vege!!! I think close to 40% are all vege (cabbage, beansprout, capsicum etc), 50% noodle and 10% cha shu (2 slices if I rmb correctly)...

All Kazan Ramen comes with a bowl of rice for you to add into the soup after you are done eating the ramen...

I guess I'm lucky to order the "S-size" ramen, I can't even finish all of them by myself (left half bowl of rice and I surrendered~~~), very generous portion (soup, vege, noodle n rice)...

Very worthwhile, decent ramen that's value-for-money and instagram-worthy...

- tender chicken karaage
- thick braised pork
- thinly sliced chashu
- bamboo shoots
- scallions
- nori seaweed

Tasty and if you are looking for a change from the usual soup ramen, this is where you should go!

Note: Small shop which can accommodate about 20pax (I think)...quite a bit of waiting when I was there, not for the queue but for the ramen to be served to me...hmm...but the service crew was polite and making you feel welcomed...
