Have been hearing about Kipos and had to give it a try since I quite like Daily Cut’s salads too. I got the large size and I liked how generous the portions were for the price! You get two carbs and lots of other toppings, so it’s really a lot. I’ll probably get a small next time.
What’s good about Kipos is that I could get more “premium” veggies without any additional cost, like spinach, and rocket (which I really love). There’s also tamagoyaki instead of the typical onsen egg. I actually wanted the mentaiko salmon for my protein because the mentaiko mayo on top looks so generous, but it was very unfortunately unavailable when I went there, so I settled for the miso marinated salmon. It was pretty good- soft and tender inside, but I think I’ll be back for the mentaiko salmon still.
The sauces are also quite interesting here. I got truffle shoyu, which was slightly sweet and had a strong truffle, and my friend got roasted sesame, which had a thicker sesame taste than your typical sesame dressing. Would try this again!

Urban Mix is Vatos Urban Tacos’ healthier sister! Since their signature bowls were on Burpple Beyond, I decided to give them a shot. I had the Japanese bowl while my friend had the Mexican bowl.
Sadly, I didn’t enjoy mine that much. While their grilled chicken thigh was nice, there wasn’t much else going for this bowl. The soba was too soft (as are most sobas in salad bowls...) and their tofu was just unseasoned. The accompanying sauce (a sweet ponzu) also didn’t add much flavour for me. Overall a pretty disappointing bowl, although portions were very generous.
That being said, my friend enjoyed his Mexican bowl a lot - that came with pulled pork and guacamole, amongst things. Probably would suggest this bowl or other bowls instead!
I’d say stick to haakon’s acai bowls or juices for sure. While their bowls sound appealing, they did not execute the components very well. The salmon was clearly overcooked for this and also very small in portion - just about a finger and another finger limb in length. The mushrooms were unseasoned with a slightly leathery texture while the broccoli was on the softer side, but still acceptable. The baby corn was alright and the quinoa was cooked with a sourish marinade that I didn’t really enjoy. The mentaiko mayo sauce I got also hardly added any flavour for me- tasted like a more sour mayo instead. I would go for other more established salad bowl places instead!
Pretty much every CBD-working person probably knows about Omnivore, but this was my first time trying it! It’s really affordable (even adding $2 for my salmon) and was great! I got the pasta, edamame, corn, sous vide egg, salmon and pesto dressing. (This is basically my standard combo for most salad places... I’m very unadventurous.) The pesto was amazing. It was so, so tasty and I practically finished the whole thing! The salmon was also really well portioned and quite well cooked - crispy skin and soft inside, although I thought it could be seasoned less in salt. Would definitely eat this everyday if healthy eating was cheaper haha.
This picture doesn't do justice to the true size of the salad wrap. It's really so big and filling that you'd be shocked eating it. I was quite reluctant to go here at first because I had always just passed by it, but my friend brought me here as part of his "healthy living" and it really impressed me. I particularly enjoyed the spinach wrap that added a new depth of flavour.
