📍Tongue Tip Lanzhou Beef Noodles
- Chicken Dry Flat Noodles (雞肉乾拌麵 - 大寬)🍜

While it’s famous for its beef noodles (as the shop name suggest), went for their dry chicken noodles instead...

Opted for their flat noodles (8 types of noodles for u to choose from), with chilli, leek and coriander...

It’s not as spicy as I expected (much less spicy than ur McSpicy), pretty like how it taste and the springiness of the noodles, just that the chicken is a little too oily to my likings (believed to be pan fried), otherwise, it would have been perfect...

Each main comes with a free side dish, which is quite tasty too, quite a steal for the price!

I would defo visit them again~

Note: My friends went for their beef noodles and almost all said nice and even some went back again! The beef is pretty tender from what I know, beef lover can try this out, noodles lover can also try this for I really find their noodles yum!

It’s been a while to have a seafood feast~~~🦐🐙🌽

Although we ordered the Dancing Crab Signatures Spicy sauce, it tasted more like tomato sauce with mild spiciness, probably our threshold for spiciness is higher and ya, we added tabasco...🌶

The seafood is pretty fresh, tomato/chilli base but yet not that spicy (I don’t think it’s spicy at all), for ppl who can’t take spicy stuff, can try this...

For the corn and sausages, well marinated together with the seafood, pretty nice...

The calamari rings like so-so only, can skip, it’s like eating rubberband with easily wear off coating, focus on their combo will do...

Overall, portion is enough for us (3 pax) but not exactly filling, it’s pretty pricey, suggest try once in a while will do...

Note: Plastic apron and gloves are provided, there’s also basin and soap for you to wash your hands, no worries~

Dept lunch yay!✌🏻

The fish is quite fresh, decent chicken breast shabu shabu, loads of vege and egg “soaked” in the sour and spicy tomyum soup base, just yum!

Find it a little pricey though...

Over-ordered for just 2 pax, but don’t care, we still eat them anyways...

The dan dan la mian is for those who likes peanuts sauce, pretty sweet even though it’s Szechuan style, ya, don’t you worry that it will be spicy, it’s not...

Prefer the minced meat and mushroom sauce la mian, as I like savoury more...

Both the above, I like how springy the la mian is, really not bad at all!

As for the dumplings and xlb, really think DTF did a better job...for the dumplings’ vinaigrette is not sour and spicy enough, and the xlb skin is a little too thick, decent but you won’t miss much if you didn’t order them...

As for the scallion pastry, more like our prata with scallion, taste not bad but can’t really name it 蔥油餅...

Different from the commonly seen peppery bak kut teh, Jia Bin offers the Klang (herbal) style bak kut teh...

Understand Jia Bin uses ample of spices and herbs for the soup and boils them overnight to bring us this rich herbal taste. For people who’s looking for something for a change (not the peppery one), this soup base is pretty decent I would say...

The pork ribs were tender and can be ripped with our chopsticks, not bad at all!

For the dry bak kut teh, find the dark sauce a little overpowering and lack of the gist, the herbal taste, in this case...

Coming to the shop recommended spicy pork belly, tastes like a combi of dark sauce and kung-po style with a higher spiciness note. I really think it’s for spicy food lover, find this dish spicy enough and complement to the rice (超下飯的)!

Next on the hua diao wine chicken, hint of hua diao with tender chicken, this dish is unlike their other dry food items, it’s quite nice but a stronger hua diao taste will be great...

Pork belly isn’t something I will go for as I don’t like the usual squishy (nua-nua-jelly-liked) fatty parts, but based on my friends, Jia Bin did a great job on this area and the pork belly doesn’t make one feel sick, for pork belly lover, can try this out...

Hard to find places that sell pig’s intestine due to the cumbersome procedures, thus, surprised to see it on the menu...probably cos I have a higher expectation on the intestine, this dish doesn’t really impress me. It’s decent but not wow, probably cos I expect the intestine to absorb the herbal taste but somehow, they just doesn’t...

As for the pig’s stomach, it will be better if the pig stomach could be boiled/stewed for a longer period of time for I find it a little too chewy/ rubbery, might not be a dish for the elderly (牙口不好很難咬斷)...

For the bak kut teh, pork belly, pig intestine and pig stomach, Jia Bin uses the same soup base and they are refillable!

The crispy beancurd was served separately so as not to distort the herbal soup taste, but you can definitely dip it in based on your preference! Personally likes to dip them in...

That works the same for the dough fritters...

For the salted vege and the oyster sauce choy sim, these dishes are decent but nothing too wow, can go or go without...

Overall, would recommend the bak kut teh, spicy pork belly and hua diao wine chicken for the mains and crispy beancurd for the sides. The portions are generous and good for sharing.

Bonus: Refillable soup base, Beyond one-for-one is applicable, convenient location (within walking distance from mrt), spacious and suitable for groups & family

Damage: Price range from $7.50 to $15 for mains, $2 to $5 for sides and $0.30 to $3.50 for drinks & aiyu jelly

Usually will go for ytf soup but when it comes to Fu Lin, it just gotta be their dry one~

Since the first time I tried, they only have the dry option, and thereafter, it’s no turning back...(I heard they have the soup option now, but I’ve yet to try)

The minced meat sauce is still as good as the past, not too diluted/heavy and not too salty/bland, just nice~~~

Can’t really describe how the sauce taste like but it’s not jus dark soya sauce (got mushroom and other spices), you really gotta try it on your own...=X

There are quite a variety of choices but I went for all fried stuff (guilty) for I find it hard to chew the vege when it comes to dry ytf...

Note: Expect long queue during lunch hour, be early to get a seat too...

Dept lunch but felt disappointed...

Out of the above, the signature platter, sambal fish, cereal prawns, and nai bai were nice... As for the rest, below average, probably some tze char places out there can do a better job...

The platter was pretty good, especially the fried baby squid, couldn’t stop eating that!

The sambal fish was something different from what I’ve tried out there. It was dried sambal (and not that oily) on fried fishes, for those who can’t take spicy food, can try to remove the sambal but this was actually quite yum~

Their cereal prawns were good, the prawns were fresh enough and filled with cereal smell, nice...

The nai bai was crunchy and sweet, and quite impressed by the fried enoki mushroom combi, this dish can order...

Here comes those not-so-recommended dishes...

The fish maw with crabmeat was not say very impressive, but decent...

The sea cucumber and abalone were a little too hard and got that fishy smell somehow, I think they need more time to prep their sea cucumber and braise the abalone...

Suggest to skip the heaven & earth pork rib, tasted like over-cooked (chao-tah?) coffee pork rib which left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Moreover, the pork ribs were kinda fatty to my likings...

Can also skip the yam with ginko nuts, couldn’t taste / see the ginko, it’s like just yam purée with coconut milk, taste wise...like a waste of my calories...=X

Lastly, the chilli crab, smells good, looks good but...a little too sweet and the buns were rather cold, lower than my expectation, suggest to skip too...

Overall, some hits and some misses, suggest to go for ala carte instead of the set menu since some of the dishes were below average in my opinion...

Initially thought the shop was quite empty, doubt the food will be nice, but since there was no queue and none of us tried before, no harm trying it, we went there for our dinner...

Luckily we went! Think not many ppl went there probably cos they are new, to our surprise the food is not bad at all!

Totally value for $!

Like mui-fan concept, but you can also ask them to serve the “zhap” (sauce) separately...

Wouldn’t mind coming back again...

Recommend their deep fried fish! Super duper crispy and the sauce goes really very well with rice!
The venison with ginger & spring onion is also another nice dish, the ginger got rid of the meat smell and the meat is really tender, like!

Sambal kang kong, nothing to pick, decent...

As for the hor fun, find it a bit too sticky, n find tt like no wok-hei, so-so only...

The usual chicken hotpot is tasty and you can choose the spicy level, at the end of eating the zup-zup style (gravy) chicken hotpot, the staff will add soup to the base and you are able to dip all the sides in it and it’s less salty after that but more like a braised gong-bao style chicken soup...

As for the pig stomach and chicken soup, it is just as good! The peppery soup base just warm my stomach and generous portion of chicken and pig stomach in the soup, nice!
