Was rather apprehensive about ordering their pasta at first, but it turned out to be not bad! Their vongole was very tasty because they used a lot of garlic and the oil emulsion clung to the spaghetti well. The clams also weren’t sandy. One of the better vongole that I’ve tried actually!

Their signature pizza, the white-based Zazz pizza, consisted of mozzarella, Australian ribeye, mixed mushrooms, parmesan, truffle cream, arugula, and cherry tomatoes. It was quite unique! Tasted like a truffle mushroom pizza but with cherry tomatoes and arugula to balance it out, along with chunks of Australian ribeye. Although I didn’t mind the meat on it, I felt like the pizza could have done without it.

Went back to Zazz pizza and it didn’t disappoint! The red-based Parma Burrata pizza has generous amounts of parma ham, topped with arugula and parmesan shavings and finished with a creamy burrata in the middle. Their pizzas here are particularly delicious because of how fluffy and bready the crust is, achieved by fermenting the dough for a few days. Despite it’s breadiness, it’s still chewy and quite light, making it the perfect vessel for the pizza toppings. The pizza was a bit too saucy last time I went, resulting in the middle of the pizza becoming soggy, but it was perfect this time.

Overall a great experience again! Booked through @hungrygowhere so I managed to get a seat inside (recommended since they have limited seating). What they lack in decor they make up for in the quality of their food. Can’t emphasise how much I like their pizza dough!

This mushroom risotto with assorted wild mushrooms and porchini inside was incredibly tasty. It’s very rich tasting and the cheese in the risotto complements the earthiness of the mushrooms well. There’s also a lavosh wedged into the risotto so you can mop it up with that! This risotto is on the thicker side, but I loved how umami it was. Totally wiped up this dish.

This chilli crab pasta was not bad. It had rather sizeable crab chunks and it wasn’t too spicy either. The sauce is a tangy, slightly sweet cream sauce and clung well to every strand of pasta. This would probably be better to share though, or it could get a bit overwhelming.

(Thanks Burpple and Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar for the eatup!)

Although they’re more well known for their chilli crab pasta, I actually liked their laksa pasta a lot more. It tastes a lot like a dry aglio olio, with an oomph from the fragrant laksa spices and herbs. It also comes with quite a few large prawns and slices of fishcake. I truly enjoyed this dish! Never thought dry laksa could taste so delicious.

This truffle pasta was equally bland. The only flavour came from the Parmesan shavings on top, and it lacked the truffle taste that it promised. It was more like a cream sauce with the tiniest hint of mushroom soup, enhanced only by the fried garlic pieces.

Even handmade pasta can't taste nice when cooked in the blandest sauce! Sadly, this has got to be one of the most watery marinara sauces I’ve ever tried. In fact, it almost tasted like Pasta Mania’s tomato sauce, which is definitely not great, particularly when you’re selling it at such a price point. The "fusion" concept they were trying to go for just didn’t work- it was not cohesive and tasted frankly, all over the place. Despite there being a meatball (with water chestnut and lap cheong slices) and rubbery pork belly slices, the lack of a robust, meaty, tomato sauce made this dish fall flat. Would not come here again.

This antipasto platter is so worth it! You can customise it yourself by choosing one cold cut, mozzarella, and side dish. I went for parma ham, rocket salad with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and topped up an additional $10 for their truffled burratina (250g). The portion size was v impressive - particularly how much parma ham there was! The parma ham was also thinly sliced and not overly salty.

The best part was the burrata though. It was intensely creamy inside and so soft. The truffle paste on top with several shaved truffles was earthy, fragrant and enhanced the cheese. Definitely worth getting this as an appetiser to share! The environment here is also really lively as it’s near a cluster of other restaurants, and the service is very friendly.

This is one of Depizza’s more funky fusion pizzas. Decked out with a ton of bonito flakes and sauce drizzled over it, it’s quite the sight. It has a mayo-takoyaki sauce base and has octopus, squid and bacon on it, although I mostly tasted the octopus. While an interesting concept, it felt like they could have been a bit more generous with the ingredients as well.

This is my second time trying the sashimi pizza, but it’s still not my preferred item on the menu. Nevertheless, if you’re craving Japanese food but your friend wants Italian, this could be a good compromise haha! The pizza has a mayo base and is topped with chunks of salmon sashimi, roe, and seaweed flakes. I personally don’t enjoy the mayo base and thought that the salmon tasted a bit mushy for my liking this time though.

The tomato base of this seafood pizza ($29) was slightly sweet and went well with the seafood. The pizza is topped with tiger prawns, mussels, squid and olives. Given the price, I wish that the portions of seafood were more generous though, but it’s okay if you’re using a 1 for 1 promo here.
