The combination of the soft ice cream with the crispy puff was perfect. The matcha ice cream was just right, not too bitter or sweet. 😍

For 150g of tender beef patty with sides of fried tau kee, tofu, ebi tempura, miso soup, rice, FREE FLOW EGGS and UNLIMITED ACCESS to a SALAD BAR OVER 25 INGREDIENTS at only $18.80 (top up $2 for CHEESE OOZING OUT OF YOUR HAMBURG), this is seriously the best deal for quality Japanese food in Singapore. Everything was so well done - hamburg was juicy and flavourful, ebi tempura was deep fried to a nice crisp, salad bar was constantly replenished with fresh ingredients (their noodles are good), and eggs were cooked well in a variety of styles.

The queue can go up to an hour due to the sheer number of seats so I would recommend going at their opening times of 11am and 5.30pm, but it'll be worth the wait anyway for that quality of food πŸ˜‹

There's something about crispy pork belly that entices us Asians. Is it the crispy crackling skin or the luscious gelatinous fat that melts in the mouth? Who knows?

Monster loves the crisp and the fat!

Though I enjoyed the crispy burnt cheese with the chicken steak very much, this meal would have been perfect if I could change the curry rice to their sambal pepper rice.

So I was wondering, @pepperlunchsg , in line with your tagline "Sizzle It Your Way", would you consider offering a fully customized menu? One where I can pair your rice/pasta with any of your available protein + any of your existing sauce? Now that'll really be what I call sizzle it my way!πŸ˜‹

This place is a gem! Prices were super reasonable and free of GST and service charge πŸ€—

Located right above one north MRT station this place was pretty accessible. Upon arrival the place was super packed and we thought we had to queue for a long time. Turns out someone was having a party haha but we manage to get seats immediately.

Got the scrambled eggs ($6) which comes with greens and a piece of amazingly soft Hokkaido bread. I topped up the dish with a slice of ham and chicken sausage.
Let me just starts with the eggs. Although it looks a bit too cooked, it was perfect. The right amount of creaminess and texture, lightly seasoned with black pepper. The bread and the scrambled eggs went really well together.

We had their bread pudding as well. Ordered the coconut and banana which came with a scoop of ice cream. It costs about $6 and we thought that was really worth our money. Wished that the coconut taste was stronger but u can subtly taste the grated coconut in the bread pudding.

Definitely a nice place to just chill. The place is a little small, if u can't find a seat don't fret! There are many cafes around this area as well!

Today had seafood stew. It has fresh clams and shelled fresh prawns. This place has fried chicken and stews great for sharing. The owner is a Korean and she is very patient. We went quite late one night. Instead of turning is down, she served us and waited for us to finish when all her staff has left.

What's for lunch today?
Had a homely feel last night at @attaphousesg, our homegrown brand to bring nostalgia with local favourites and old school Nonya cuisine of the 70s and 80s. My favourite of all was their signature Satay Bee Hoon ($6.80) - homemade Satay sauce made with crushed cashew nuts and peanuts!
Immersed in the thick and gooey sauce, the bee hoon was well complemented with fresh kang kong, cuttlefish, cockles, pork slices, pork liver, tau pok and prawns! The aroma of the sauce was the highlight, and if you are not a bee hoon fan, you can also opt for a potato version with satay sauce at $1 cheaper!
Thank you @theinfluencernetwork for the hosted meal!

🍚 Sandwiched between the deep fried coconut rice patties lies a huge and thick slab of southern fried chicken thigh, topped with house-made sambal sauce, sunny side up on a bed of fresh raw greens and served with a side of luncheon fries. Portion was indeed huge which could easily feed 2 or one starving soul. What I fancied most was the coconut rice patties that's deep fried to a crisp, well breaded panko-crusted exterior with a compact interior of coconut rice that's really fragrant and flavourful. The southern fried chicken thigh was also deep fried to a golden brown crisp exterior, with a tender, succulent meaty interior. Paired along with the house-made sambal sauce, the spiciness was a distinctive and lingering one, one that would sent a slight numbing sensation to the palate and thankfully, not sweet unlike the renowned fast food chain's version. Although I would personally not mind if it was a little more spicy though... Topped with a sunny side up which unfortunately didn't had any runny yolk as stated, what was missing was still the crunch of the Ikan bilis and peanuts that's replaced with lettuce, tomato and cucumbers. The side of luncheon fries were done to an ideal crispness in its exterior, with a characteristic savoury tinge of saltiness. A pretty heavy and sinful meal (with most ingredients being deep fried) but worth the try with the fragrant rice patties and sambal sauce that won my heart over! πŸ’–(PS: this is only available throughout the month of August, weekday dinners and all day on weekends) .

The sourdough bread is flavourful & fluffy although we would have liked the crust to be slightly crisper (& less hard; found some bits quite difficult to bite through). J ordered the nut butter one and didn't quite like it as it was too sticky & the sweetness of the peanut butter and honey was an odd combi with the sourness of the bread (but this could just be his personal taste). C enjoyed her well-seasoned hummus toast for its flavourful chickpea & herby taste.
