This was a solid cup of matcha - nicely rich with a good balance of bitterness and deepness. They provide varied sugar options and occasionally do a surprise seahorse on your latte. I normally have my coffee unsweetened and chose “less sweet” which was perfect. Vegan milk options available too.
Also got a slice of banana bread ($3.80) which was clean tasting, nutty, and not too sweet. The staff is friendly and also nice enough make sure you have water to drink without you asking.
I love this place! This specialty coffee shop is a hidden find and a stone’s throw away from the crowded Jem with a clean and minimalist layout. It’s great for an affordable post-meal chill if you’re looking to escape the crazy JE crowds and want a quiet place to talk or read a book.
You’ll be seated within view of mrt tracks so do be prepared for some noise - but this wasn’t a bother for me.
This was so good! The waffles were different from the usual buttery kind - but good in their own right. Contrary to earlier reviews, I thought the waffles were nicely crisp and not too floury.
We really liked "It's Getting Dark" (dark chocolate) which was rich and not too sweet (at $3.50 for a single scoop, also cheaper than Real Food's own rendition), and "Passion A Go Go" (passion fruit, premium) was less impressive but sufficiently citrusy. Both were flavours I'd get again in a heartbeat.
Left feeling fresh and not too guilty. Will be back to try more!
