It's my first time having this after it's opening and i was rly impressed! Food wise was very fresh but defo not wallet-friendly haha. Service was simply impeccable. Fyi – if you pay by cash, cents will be waived off! Will come back again for their tomato soup based + shrimp cakes!

It was Burppler @Ida.C who said we had to get the Baby Corn to share. Thank goodness we took her advice - this was superb!
For a dish that appears simple, its flavours were by no means that. The grilled baby corn and corn kernels were ridiculously sweet while the translucent onions added a frisson of tangy pungency.

Hiroshima Oysters - The oysters were surprisingly deep-freezed and microwaved but it tasted nothing like microwaved food. I found it extremely fresh and very well-marinated.

Bistro Du Le Pin has a fantastic cabbage dish but so does @humpback.sg . What's with these vegetable dishes! ☺️ #burpple #vegetables #burpplesg #cleaneating #igsg #sgig #fujifilmxe1 + #fujinon18mm

Do not - we repeat - do not come to Teru Sushi with your friends not expecting a wait. But it won’t be hard to convince your friends that it’s worth it — the affordably priced, plump and juicy Oysters ($1.50) are enough assurance. Alternatively, find a day where you and your friends end work early and head straight to Teru at Tiong Bahru (they open at 6pm) to snag a table. Start the meal with some melt-in-your-mouth Sashimi slices ($12) before moving on to the oysters. For some carbs, go for the Shiok Maki ($20). It is an Unagi sushi roll blanketed with mayo, before being torched for a nice smoky finish. As for heartier eats, know that the menu is full of classed up versions of Japanese classics everyone will love. To put it simply, this is a group dinner slam-dunk.

Fresh sushi for what you can get in Singapore. The restaurant is located within a Japanese supermart. Be sure to buy something from the supermart and they will give you some voucher which you can use when you dine at their restaurants.

This salmon is amazing, it is now my favourite salmon in Singapore. It's really that good. The skin on its side are uber crispy - as crispy as keropok - while the flesh are still very moist, very tender.

I've no idea how Chef Pavski did it, but he said it's because he uses only fresh salmon.

Taken during a tasting.

Located on Arab Street, this unpretentious cafe is unlike others on the list. It's dimly lit, they don't serve flowy eggs Benedict and they don't sugar coat or prettify their mains for the 'gram. But, it's also where you'll find downright satisfying mains, excellent coffee and a whole lot of fun going on (with a dope playlist in the background). Seating is limited, so come with two friends at most. Their menu has since been revamped to include items like the Halloumi & Cauliflower Rice Salad ($16), a vegetarian dish so tasty you might just forget that there isn't any meat. Shaved cauliflower bits are pan-fried, combined with grilled zucchini, capers and a mustard dressing, and then stacked generously on a bed of mixed greens. The heaping pile of veggies is then blanketed with halloumi cheese, sliced eggplants, thyme-roasted tomatoes and a delicious housemade hummus. The owners are from Melbourne and they use Melbourne-sourced beans, so you know your coffee is in good hands.

Chicken wings//large cup of sugarcane//fried egg with oysters aka ou jian//sambal stingray//satay with peanut sauce//fried hokkien mee. Great place to catch up with friends or chilling or dating. The downside is that it could be difficult finding a seat, especially during the weekends!! But the food is really good, pity the picture I took doesn't do it justice.

Located in Boon Lay, this food centre sees an unending stream of regulars on weeknights. The stall front is covered with many accolades won over the years — a testament to how good their dishes are. Follow our Burpple community's recommendation and get the Fried Egg with Oysters ($10). Unlike the starchy oyster eggs we're used to, the version here is an omelette topped with a generous portion of plump oysters. Burppler Hwans Lim highly recommends coming with a group of four or more to share the Fish Steamboat (market price). It comes ladened with plenty of fresh fish slices, yam cubes and tomatoes. Also worth sharing are the XL-sized Homemade Prawn Roll (Hei Zho)($8) — unlike other places where the hei zho comes in bite-sized pieces, here they do a lemon-sized version that requires more than a bite to finish.
