Mexican Food

Unfortunately, the beef rendang croquetas weren’t very well seasoned either and also tasted a bit bland. I also thought that it just tasted slightly spicy, and couldn’t really identify the taste of beef rendang. I liked the concept though. The beef rendang is mixed with potatoes and coated with a crispy crust. Hope they improve on it too!

These Colombian empanadas were stuffed with shredded slow cooked beef, which could have done with a lot more salt as it was quite bland. The empanadas is made of corn puff pastry and essentially tastes like a Malay-style curry puff. Could imagine this being nice if not for the lack of seasoning! Hopefully they can improve on it.

These pulled pork nachos were fantastic! The tortilla chips are topped with a mountain of pulled pork and slathered with queso, tomato salsa and sour cream. Be sure to eat this fast as the chips at the bottom will eventually get soggy. This was still my favourite dish though. The pork was really tasty and anything topped with queso and salsa can’t go wrong. Great for sharing!

I will always love Guzman... I normally get their chicken burrito, which is almost like carrying a baby in your hands itself when eating it because of how much ingredients there are. I’m not very adventurous, but my friend ordered this enchiladas and I was so shocked!!! It’s basically a bigger version of their burrito, but with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and nachos!!!! It was amazing and my friend (a guy, with a guy-sized appetite) had it for lunch and dinner because it was THAT much.

Featuring the lovely pescados (fish) burrito and California burrito! I particularly enjoyed the fish that was tender and coated in a crispy batter. The California burrito had steak, fries, sour cream, and cheese, but personally, I thought that the fries could have been more crisp. (I’d recommend the Carne Asada fries instead) Also, I’m not very sure why, but the skin of our burritos this time was softer than usual, which made me quite disappointed. Still, a really filling meal!

These fries were truly amazing. Some other places charge this much for just plain fries with some variation of truffle oil or mentaiko mayo (with more mayo if anything), but these fries were truly worth $15. The fries are crisp and coated with a mild seasoning which seems to be a little of paparika to me. It's topped decadently with guacamole, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and the star- steak! Nothing has felt more sinful, yet worth it!

I went to Muchachos lately when they celebrated their anniversary and had their wonderful 1 for 1 promotion. I haven't eaten much Mexican food in my life before, but this burrito is definitely 100% worth it, even at regular price! They're incredibly generous with all their ingredients, particularly the guacamole and the chicken, which was so well seasoned and tender. I was super pleased while eating this and remarked that it was so heavy that the way I was holding it felt like I was holding a baby and my friend agreed haha! What a great meal. Will definitely go back for more!!
