Arigato! 🎎🎏
The tsukeman version is definitely much more palatable to my tongue. The dipping dashi has a citrusy yuzu taste which is more to my liking as compared to the soup version.
Signature dish from Afuri with thin noodle that is different from the usual. The noodle used here tasted like soba instead and after checking with the waiteress, they told us it was actually made from healthier wholegrain (not too sure how true it is). The soup was very light with the citrusy taste of yuzu. Something different but i would definitely pick the thick broth anytime. Char siew is definitely not to my liking as the meat was kind of tough and chewy. The onsen egg is quite clean on the inside, not well marinated.
Meringue style japanese pancake in matcha flavour. Comes in a stack of four or eight that comes with a doop of butter on the top but and we added additional topping such as red bean and scoop of vanillia ice cream for a dollar each. Pancake was indeed light and fluffy but it was slightly undercooked as i can taste the uncooked batter from the pancake.
Surprisingly this casual japanese western restuarant does this spanish seafood rice fairly well. Ingredient was quite fresh and the rice was not mushy with a strong aroma of the herbs that was used.
Scrambled egg with prawns topped on a bed a japanese rice. Once in a blue moon indulgence during work lunch to pamper yourself!
Never had the chance to try cheese fritter before as i am not a cheese lover. But this cheese fritter was something that i will order my next visit. Small savoury cheese fritter that was slightly cheesy but not too over the top which is to my liking.
Favourite order from Ma Maison. The bolognese sauce with minced beef was so flavourful, the sauce was so meaty and full of flavours. Tha sauce was separated from the spagetti and you can drench the sauce as much as you like onto the sphagetti. Simple dish that is well-executed and it shows how much effort the restaurant put in.
Sushi roll with spinach and yuzu kosho. Kosho is a type of japanese fermented paste that is commonly use for miso soup or pair with sashimi. The roll is further sprinkled with sakura shrimps. The sakura shrimps flavour indeed overpower the spinach and yuzu kosho in the sushi roll.
This is from one of Sushi Tei new seasonal menu, Blossom of Spring. Pork katsu deep fried and baked with cheese. The dish was further topped with spicy mayo. Pork meat was tough to our mouth and the meat proportion to the skin was off.
Instead of putting it together on a single bowl, the rice was separated from the egg and unagi. The egg was a tad too saltish as it was soak in quite a fair bit of the sauce. Apart from the egg, the unagi was great 👍🏼 Every main order comes with free flow salad bar, drinks and dessert.
Comes with demi glace sauce and tomato rice. Beef was brasied till tender and soft and the flavour seep deep into the meat.
It comes in a set of 4 or 8s and is on 1 for 1 promotion. Salmon is a tad too thin but the aburi taste was on point. Is quite for it for the price of $8.9 for 8 pcs.
