Saw @twentylayers.sg on @foodirectory.sg and dragged my forever food bud @fatpigdiary to share half with me😂❤️they are having opening promotion of $50 for all their whole crepe cakes till 14 June!🤩 tried their strawberry basil 🍓🌿 I personally love the strong minty basil herby (so does my parents phew - they aren’t sweets people😂) the cream is super generous! And not sugary sweet as well👍 strawberries personally I find abit lacking cos I love strawberries opps😍 but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to lady m, this is a pretty close and good deal☺️💕

Funny story: you most likely gonna see the same picture on @fatpigdiary cos it’s so soft that after we took this shot, the whole cake collapse😂 and cos we were outdoors, it’s like drizzling 🌧 + ants 🐜 coming + mosquito 🦟😂 we got to like fast game split the cake etc. - resulting to “swipe to end” for a hell of a creamy mess takeaway😂

so I’m been wondering: “ Wah there is so many new online bakers, tough competition there why not try if tzechar is my thing instead😂” plus craving haha🤤 so decided to cook one of my favorite tzechar dish: STICKY COFFEE RIBS - just that I used chicken instead cos my helper is #halalsg 🐓💕 I adapted the recipe from @spicenpans and it turn out as good🤩 as long as u get the sauce right, the difference is only in the meat texture. I added more coffee as I wanted the strong caffeine fragrance😂✨ overall, its a tougher dish than it looks especially getting the deep frying right. I will recommended to give this a try for fun at home or simply buy🤭😜❤️

💡first is my mum’s childhood kampong recipe! WINTERMELON SOUP - like literally😂✨ looks exactly like those in restaurant but better due to the homely touch🧑🏻 she made this from pure memory of my grandma☺️ as it is a traditional passed-down dish, the ingredients are like “Tikam” estimates haha!😜so the recipe is a rough guide to creating your own home version of this dish😊 this is a super healthy and light soup, Chinese called this凉寒汤 (cool/chill soup)😂 hence need to add ginger to harmonize it with 热气 ( I tried to explained lol, if anyone can elaborate do comment below🤣)

Ingredients (serve 4 pax): A whole wintermelon
Dried scallops
Ginger slices
Chicken chunks
Button mushrooms
Salt and pepper
Water ( approx 3-4 cups)

Steps:
- boil all the ingredients together (except the wintermelon) at the side to create the soup broth
- cut the winter melon at the top, dig a hole inside (not too much) just enough to remove all the seeds.
- place the wintermelon in a steamer add in the soup broth into the cavity.
- steam it for an hour to an hour and a half and it’s ready to be served!✨

First day back to work✨💪sadly haven’t get to go back to pei kio market one more time: my new found hawker with that old school 1900s vibes☺️randomly found this # 01-25 Hong Kong Chee Cheong fun stall with Lee Hsien Loong photo🤭must be good I thought - selling at $4.50 for prawn somemore🤔 and WOW, it’s really restaurant standard rice flour rolls👏 high standard smooth even layers ( like a beautiful coastline✨) - made freshly on the spot💕!!!!! craving this again homg✨ best Chee Cheong fun I eaten from Hawker centres so far👍 I definitely wanna go back and try more stalls especially those with ancient looks signboards reflecting the decades of skill accumulated by the aunties and uncles nearing their golden finale😢✨

It’s the last day of circuit breaker!😊 who is going back to work?😭 one thing that really impressed me is the digital evolution of fnb and the community spirit from these tough times🥰 found out about @tutukuehpapa (started by his Niece if I’m not wrong - hear from my mum) through my HDB Facebook page 💕you can check out his story on @eatbooksg and @zaobaosg ✨circuit breaker turned mr ho tutu kueh from a nameless stall to a sold out online waitlist👏 food verdict: maybe due to crazy orders, the skin is bit dry and can be steamed slightly longer. But the coconut filling is really on point 🥥✨and the uncle very friendly hehe, slot my fam order in between cos we are in the hood🤭 I definitely learn more new things bout my hood thanks to circuit breaker🤗

Taking a break from sweets😂gonna be doing some hawker posts and savory recipes😉💕 sharing my dad-proclaimed: best #minjiangkueh in singapore🤩 located at #lorongahsoo market - a less known hawker centre but with one of the best #hawkerfood and #sgheartlands vibes😋 unlike other stalls, he make by per serving rather than a huge one portioned out. It is super cheap at $0.90 only!!!!!😍 crispy on the edges with warm soft insides and packed filling of coconut/peanut or cheese🤤 it’s on the second floor: look out for 和合 stall name✨🥰 u will see the nearby queue for nasi lemak😂

finally got my Madeleine pan🐚💕and a stash of @nestle instant matcha latte 🍵 from @donkisg 🥰 hence decided to try my first Madeleine bake inspired by @justonecookbook again🤭💕 I twerked the proportions and amount to suit my small intake + less sweet needs🥰✨and turned out to be really yummy✨there isn’t a strong matcha taste cos I’m still procrastinating about spending money on better matcha powder💸but I love how it turned out to have a fragrant milky flavor with hint of matcha😊 first time doing chocolate glazing which needs some improvement hence will try again before sharing that💪 but for original matcha latte Madeleine it’s a success for me😊it’s really a simple and quick bake (since u can prep the night before) just need to invest in that pretty pan🤩happy Friday everyone! Hope I make u all wanna bake this wkend too😂✨

My very first #homebaker purchase from @shesells.seashells.sg 🐚💕got her bakesale set ($38) that comes with matcha Yuzu madeleines 🍵 🍋, pickled cherry blossom financier 🌸, pistachio and macadamia cookie 🍪🤩 super love the cherry blossom financier ~ you can taste the infused condensed milk flavor 🥛✨ the pistachio is great for nutty lover 🥜the matcha Yuzu is just the best of both world✨🥰 I love the sweet note and this really makes a great treatself or carepack for your friends🙆‍♀️( I shared some with my friend so it’s missing a set haha! There are 4 of each pastry!)

Treating myself to @lees_confectionery exquisite cakes for the weekend🤩✨ now that I’m baking, i have a personal list of which also means 😂💕artisanal cakes is on the list✨ i got their latest #matcha addition: DALE 🍵 and their top favorite MADU 🍯 both exceeded my expectations! I love that both aren’t as sugary sweet and achieved the focus on the flavor of the key ingredient👍 their silent winner is their unique tart base😏✨ DALE’s matcha does hit the spot for a matcha lover’s craving for that deep rich bitter sweetness🍵✨ MADU is truly my sweet favorite: that honey joy base is perfect!👌 the sweetness from the honey is acceptable and addictive - I can finish 2 myself🤤 immediately LEE’S is on the top ranks of my favorite cake shops in Singapore but.... why is it so farrrrr (jurong helps)😭 all u lucky Jurong residents😣
