In case you didn’t know, Guo Kui is a crispy thin flatbread (something like a chinese version of naan) that is stuffed with different kinds of pickled vegetables and baked in huge charcoal cylindrical clay ovens without any use of oil.

With a few different flavours to choose from, the guo kuis from @xiaoyangguokuisg are very crispy and fragrant with a savoury taste that will definitely leave you wanting more!

The pancakes were served with matcha montblanc sauce, matcha mousse, fresh cream and topped with vanilla ice cream. Verdict: Not the best pancake i’ve ever tried, but still quite a delicious one overall; and very great value too with the Burpple Beyond deal.

Kok Kee was one of my favourite wanton noodle stalls back then, and i was so happy that they decided to reopen again after suddenly shutting their doors a couple of years ago.

We braved the almost 1 hour queue (even on a weekday afternoon after lunchtime!) and to our delight, the wanton mee still tasted as yummy as before; with the all so familiar springy noodles drenched in their special delicious broth. We also ordered the fried wantons and signature vegetables which were both delightful as well.

We tried 3 of their popular ramen; Sanji Ramen ($11.50), Spicy Ramen ($11) & Black Sesame Ramen ($10.50). If I had to pick a favourite, it would probably be the Black Sesame Ramen with the rich aromatic sesame flavour in the broth making it very appetising. We also tried a couple of side dishes; Gyoza ($5 for 6) & Deep Fried Chicken ($3.50).

You can say I’m bias or a Koung’s fanboy, but they’ll always remain my all time favourite. The taste is truly one of a kind; the tantalising home made char siew, springy noodles plus the lard oil & soy sauce mixture, simply delightful!

They are currently only offering two drinks on the menu; Brown Sugar Boba Milk ($5.30) & Damascus Rose Tea with Lemons ($4.90). The former was smooth & milky, and went really well with the freshly made brown sugar boba pearls that were so chewy while the latter was very refreshing with a floral aroma, certainly a drink for those who prefer something lighter in taste.

Hidden in the basement of Golden Mile Tower is King of Fried Rice, a humble eatery that specialises in fried rice. They serve 4 different versions of fried rice here (Mala, X.O, Tom Yum & Egg) with your choice of meats (Pork Cutlet, Shrimp or Chicken Drumstick).
The fried rice was excellent, very flavourful with a good wok hei taste to it while the pork cutlet was delicious as well, so juicy and tender!
With a name like King of Fried Rice, they certainly delivered and i’ll definitely be back real soon to try the other versions of fried rice.

The chicken thigh was juicy and tender (and the flesh pulled apart easily with a fork & spoon). The tangy chilli sauce also added another dimension to the overall taste. I’ll be back to try their signature abalone noodles next.

Finally tried these “It’s so fluffy i’m gonna die!” soufflé pancakes from @habitat_sg that’s been making waves on social media.
In terms of taste, it kinda reminded me of McDonald’s hot cakes but softer, eggier and much more fluffy. Drizzle it with the maple syrup and what you get is a delectable treat that i would travel all the way just to eat again.

Featured here is the S’moreo & Grasshopper Pie ice creams atop Rainbow Sprinkles Cone from @emackandbolios.sg, an ice cream treat that will surely delight your sweet tooth.
The signature Siew Yoke (roast pork belly) was so delightful; crispy crackling skin sitting atop thickly cut slices of meat that were oh so succulent.
The Char Siew was excellent as well; sweetly caramelised charred meats that were super tender and had a good amount of melt-in-the-mouth fats.
