This is probably the only makan place in Singapore where I can find halal Taiwanese porridge. For $5.50, you'll get a huge bowl of plain porridge, with a generous side of condiments like sambal kangkong belacan, salted egg, century egg, sambal anchovies & peanuts, pickled radish and sambal kicap.

Oh fret now, Adam’s Corner also offers other types of porridge including chicken porridge, fish porridge and beef porridge so there's definitely something to suit everyone's palette!

ps: If you like watery kind of porridge, you WILL love the porridge here. 😛🍲

I am a first-timer in Sarang Cookery. For RM8.50, a little steep to me, but I found out that the ingredients that go into this plate are fresh. I am heavy on my salt but the lack of it on this dish is quickly being made up for the sambal. The side sambal is superb. It is the old school. You may ask for more of it. There are no prawns but there are some chicken in the rice. Do give it a try, not as a solo, but as a beautiful addition to their main gravy based dishes. I was not well enough for gravy dishes. 🤣

Can't go wrong with Uncle Dons for good food & deals. For RM13.80, the set lunch gives you ice lemon tea, a main course and a single scoop of ice cream! Where else do you get that?!?

Ordered the wild boar curry with rice and keropok, was not disappointed but thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The butter chicken chops are a good choice too! And the usual chicken chop for those who arent feeling too adventurous is just as nice. Last but not least, the chocolate ice cream was awesome, caught us by surprise!!

Waitress was nice, service was quick and interior is comfortable! A real gem 😄

Set along Jalan Bangsar, the rustic Makanhouse is backed with local lunch options and not just any, but the heritage-nuanced Melaka Portuguese and Kelantanese food. Run by an amicable family celebrating time-honoured recipes, the small eatery dishes out their best deals at breakfast. Look out for the brown rice paper-wrapped goods, such as the Nasi Lemak (RM5), Nasi Dagang Ikan Gulai (RM12) and the blue-tinged Nasi Kerabu with Spice-Fried Chicken (RM15). Since the shop only opens at 10am, we recommend coming in for first dibs at these ready-to-eat meals, which are all wholesome enough to pass off as lunch! On the pricier side, they also lay out a bountiful buffet-style lineup for lunch every afternoon. Featured in here is a dish that might be worth breaking the bank for: the Salted Fish Ambilla Curry (price varies).
