Braised Pork 🐖 Rice 🍚 招牌滷肉飯 (S$3)
Available at @eat3bowls
Decided to lunch here cos I’m hungry for deep fried intestines but it was no longer on the menu. By the way the prices seem to have gone up. The braised pork reminded me of my late grandma’s version, although it was slightly more salty and less fatty than preferred.

The thick, richly savoury broth is so deliciously peppery, and the thin vermicelli rice noodles are slippery smooth.
.
The sliced pork large intestine pieces are so tender and easy to eat. Easy to slurp down.
.
Loved every spoon of this.

Who knew there could be so many variations of sourdough bread? Each crusty, wood fire-baked slice we had was on point and made even more stellar with our choice of spreads: that smooth, luscious Norwegian butter, and the Greek pine honey that can only be described as exquisite.

Think about the Hokkaido scallop, botan ebi, uni, aburi salmon, caviar, chilled somen in bonito shoyu broth 😋. .

Also another favorite starter of mine at The Masses. I wouldn't exactly say it's affordable for a starter but it's worth the price. Grilled to a perfect extent, the octopus tentacle offered succulence and chewiness. I liked how the gochujang aioli added a tinge of fresh spiciness to the monotony of the octopus tentacle, together with the sour pickled radish. End off the dish with a soft texture by the confit baby potatoes.
