Price point is ok (around 7 sgd) for the district (sort of near town area), most importantly it’s tasty and filling! I was surprised by the taste and texture of the curry, and the achar was not too sour or sweet, just right! Youtiao and soya milk was decent, nothing exceptionally outstanding but the youtiao was fluffy and crispy so gotta give it to em!

Interesting food, especially enjoyed the rendang (not pictured). 👍🏻 Some dishes are a little heavy on the palate, but delicious all the same. And the sweet and sour “chicken” was crispy and really felt like I was eating chicken, was amazed.

Pasta express replaced the old western stall at Koufu in NTU sometime last year. The concept goes in the form of “western chap chye beng” style, in which you pick the ingredients you want in your plate of pasta. They also have pasta with fixed ingredients like carbonara. Pretty good fare for school food! A notch pricier than other stalls, but great for when you have a craving for decent pasta. Their sous vide egg is always cooked right, and smoked duck breast is the bomb.

Got this at $3++ due to their promo with the addition of an egg ($1.50++) to share with a friend (thus I have half an egg in this bowl). Soup was flavourful. Chashu was thick and juicy. Delicious. View was great during lunchtime (probably even better at night!). Personally did not like the noodle type (yellow noodles - the type with the slight alkaline taste to it). They have 1-for-1 if you are members with them. Would come back again with the 1-for-1 deal, but probably not without the promo.

Pricier than the usual hawker coffee, but well worth it. Fragrant coffee blend. I have come back specially for the coffee quite a few times now. 😋

Decent. I like the noodles’ consistency. Good broth. Their homemade pork rinds were crispy too! But overall not so value for money.

I have always enjoyed dining at Ramen Keisuke for its great service, free flow eggs and marinated bean sprouts, as well as decent price points.

Will always love IKEA for its chicken wings (6 pcs for $8) and meatballs (15 pcs for $8.50) 😋 salmon fillet ($9.90) is also not bad - I enjoy their veggy medallions whenever they have them. The almond butterscotch cakes ($3.50) are pretty decent too!

The sio bak (pork belly) was super thick and crispy. Although, I think it’d have been better if the meat was a little thinner so that I can eat it together with the rest of the burger. Because although it was crispy, it was also slightly too tough to be enjoyed in a burger due to the rinds, and I ended up eating most of the sio bak separately from the burger because they kept dropping out. Did get a bit jelat towards the end. Would be great if utensils were provided as well. But I do like the creative concept and hope to see these hawkers around for some time 😋

I loved this 😍 But looks can be deceiving because it’s honestly a pretty small bowl. Like it’s a bit bigger than your standard rice bowl. Would highly recommend you top up to the bigger bowl ($14). 10/10 would come back to this hole in a wall place with friendly aunties and uncles and affordable yummy Japanese fare.

This is the same stall that used to be at Quad that was pretty famous, and is now open at Foodgle Food Court, a hall canteen of the new Saraca, Tamarind & Meranti Halls Cluster. It’s probably the most popular stall in the canteen, and usually has comparably long queues. Yummy Korean fare and good variety too 😋

Decent sushi, particularly the salmon aburi with mentaiko ($4.80++ for 2), but I’ve also had better ones at the same price point elsewhere. My foodie buddy liked that the fish was much longer than the rice. Tucked away in a shopping mall in Thomson, there was a modest snaking queue when we arrived there for a Saturday lunch. Granted, the chirashi don was pretty good value for its price point. But I don’t see myself coming back just for the chirashi don ($12.80++) due to the location and the air-conditioning was not functioning very well. Service was passable.
