Mango Crepe Cake 🍰 (S$13++)
Light and thin crepes, layered with fresh cream and sweet mango from Thailand 🇹🇭, topped with mango sauce.
Available at @GreyHoundCafeSg in @Paragon.Sg
Juicy pieces of mango. Felt the cream was a bit too much at the end.

The menu at this particular Maccha House is a fraction of what they serve at Orchard Central, but they do have the Maccha Tiramisu (S$6.20) here, so if you are looking out for parfait or sundaes, sorry please check back with the Orchard Central branch.
And what's nice about this is that they use a good amount of matcha powder here to bring out the taste of a matcha dessert. Unfortunately, the powder, the sponge cake and the cream give me a feeling as though they are separate entities. So while this cake gives a sort of a matcha fix, I'm still thinking if I am better off with a Maccha Latte Float instead.
Beautifully plated in a traditional chirashi bowl, Sun with Moon salmon and unagi don set served in an authentic way comes with a proper miso soup, nicely sliced salmon and grilled unagi on a bed of pearly glistening sushi rice! The bonus in the set is it comes with a choice of side which includes a generous slice of grilled salmon belly.
There are hidden gems, and there are REAL hidden gems. Misato is a Japanese restaurant tucked away in some new food wing of Centrepoint (beside Chicken Up) that prides itself on serving quality Japanese food at very affordable prices. Think Saizeriya serving top grade pastas and pizzas.......... yeah sounds too good to be true right?
So they are famous for a few dishes: the A5 Ohmi Wagyu being one of them. at $43.80 for 100g of this amazing piece of meat, this is hands down the most value for money steak you'll ever find anywhere. It is also a big part of why I will DEFINITELY be back here again. perfectly marbled with a weird but tasty yellow bean sauce and mushrooms and tofu that taste more like mochi in texture.. if you love steak you HAVE to order this. 5/5
another popular dish is the okonomiyaki. you can smell this instantly from the kitchen when it is getting prepared. there was enough egg, cabbage, sauce and lightly charred crispy edges to make it a very tasty side. 5/5
popular dish #3 is their matcha soba. yes.. green tea flavoured soba. the green tea taste was cool i guess but i wasnt very impressed otherwise. maybe I'm not really a cold soba kinda guy. or maybe i was thinking the $15 i paid for the soba could have been better spent on a kurobuta pork katsu don which cost the same (yes, it is REALLY cheap there. $15 for a premium black pig katsu don is unreal) so i can only give 3/5 for this matcha soba which essentially came as soba and nothing else haha
ah. the matcha jelly. if you haven't already watched me try to shake The Most Jiggly Dessert Ever you should check it out on my profile. this was so full of matcha flavour i felt i was back in Japan. no joke. best green tea flavoured pudding/jelly in Singapore. 5/5
total damage for an A5 wagyu, huge okonomiyaki, matcha soba, matcha pudding and a pot of hot matcha was around $100. half of it was due to the steak so imagine how cheap everything is!
the only bad point about this place is the waiting time. because every dish to made to order and the chefs start preparing on the spot, this restaurant is famous for long waiting times. i went on an afternoon when the restaurant was half full and still had to wait 30mins before my first dish (the okonomiyaki) was served. be warned. if you are in a hurry DO NOT come here. otherwise this has officially become one of my favourite restaurants in Singapore. i hope this post doesn't cause even longer queues hahahahaha. 5/5
Wicked Garlic is a madly popular place among the office crowd at CBD. I always walk past their outlet at International Plaza and it was always packed. They've now owned a new outlet on the 5th floor of Cineleisure, a corner unit with full ceiling to floors windows that filled the place with plenty of natural light.
🔸
Food wise, the standard is as good as, or should I say better than, at the CBD because (pssst... the head chef is now based here at Cineleisure). Pictured are:
* Sphagetti Aglio Olio with Prawns ($14)
* Grilled Prawn Pizza ($24)
* Curry Prawn Risotto ($23)
* Four-Cheese Tortellini with Truffle ($22)
* Gnocchi with Truffle Cream Sauce ($22)
* Sphagetti Marinara Alla Cartoccio ($19)
* Capuccino ($3.70).

This was taken during a tasting invited by Stanley the owner
At first I thought it was all hype and I didn't want to succumb to it, but after trying it I must admit this is really good.

I like the buttery and crispy bread as much as the warm chewy cheese within. We've tried all three flavors - original, chocolate and charcoal, and our favorite is the chocolate! My advice to you is to eat it as soon as it's served to you, warm. If you must Instagram their cheese toast, wait for the launch of two new flavours, one of which is matcha. That cheese matcha toast is what I'm very excited to see!

Thank you Deborah, @hanarestaurantsg and @eatwithroy for the invite.
Latest food hybrid obsession: Sushi Tacos 🍣 🌮. Because why choose between your two favorite cuisines when you can just have both at the same time 😋. It's a flavourful combination of sweet, savoury and spicy (from adding wasabi) that's going to blow your brains. So good. 💕
#BurppleSushiMonth . This place serves as an affordable quick fix for sushi / sashimi cravings; no fanciful deco, just honest good food! We ordered the must tries: Aburi Chirashi Don (~$25) - those generously thick slices of fish bring mouthful of ocean goodness; Aburi Salmon Sushi ($15.90) - simply satisfies your love for salmon, and Pitan Tofu ($5.90) - strangely sweet century egg atop silky tofu. #burpple
