Affordable Tonkatsu in the heartlands✨ @maruhachi2020 now have CHEESE MENCHI MATSU ❤️which is cheese minced meat katsu - soft and cheesy goodness🧀✨started by Chef August Wijaya with 9 years experience in Tokyo-based Tonkatsu restaurant at Ion Orchard - he brings quality signatures at cheaper prices to all around Singapore 🇸🇬 I personally end up preferring their classic pork Katsu which has a good solid bite and right crispy thickness 👍 tender, not fatty best of all - you can tell that NOT GREASY/ OILY 💯 which I really appreciate from deep fried stuff haha, craving but still subconsciously healthy lol😂

Been wanting to try @fengxiangbkt ‘s malaysian style fried porridge 🔥 it gotten my dad’s stamp of approval 💯 it has a strong wokhey claypot taste which I really love ❤️ kinda missing abit of the charred edges but you could taste the hot steamy smokey flavor infused in the porridge 👍👍👍 together with the crispy pork or sliced fish perfect for lunch especially in the recent rainy cloudy weather☁️ best of all, look at those fried pork lard and shallots 😋 more pls 🤣

Their 2 for $22 pizzas 🍕 are really cheap and good - got prawns and cherry tomatoes on every slice 🥺👍 the pizza dough is standard type but good that it’s not too thick.

Literally everything I crave and need in this crazy monsoon weather 🌧 this is my favorite bakuteh in Singapore 🇸🇬 not just for the food but the kampong road side ambience - perfect vibes with their traditional Chinese tea set!💓 they are one of the pioneers of peppery ba ku teh in Singapore existing since 1950s‼️ Nothing fancy with the ingredients and appearance but full-bodied in the warmth shiok ness and peppery flavor with subtle sweetness from the pork and garlic 🧄🐖 love to get their ribs as you can bite the chewy soft meat off the bone savage style😎🍖 do consider getting their fresh seafood ( they get it daily from bendemeer market nearby! Truly kampong style✨) the finishing moment is definitely that Chinese tea set where you get to brew your own tea by the road side best with this pouring rain and start contemplating bout lif😂✨ what better time to check this place out then in this cold weather ❄️👍

Sharing my parents’ hidden gem 💎 one of the oldest and best OG porridge stalls in Singapore 🇸🇬 love their thicker and grainier texture yet smooth like mung bean soup☺️ price starts from $3, and there are various options such as pork, chicken, sliced fish, cuttlefish, or a combination of the ingredients💓 the win is in the fragrance of the congee broth which is aromatic and flavorful with hint of sweetness!❤️ highly recommended to go early in the morning before they sold out or the insane queue kicks in‼️( I waited 1 hour at 9am)

What a start to 2021🥲Msia went into emergency mode till august😰 meanwhile grateful that we can still get some of our yummy neighbour delicacies💓 Restoran Tuck Kee 怡保德记 is considered one of the must-visits when you are in Ipoh, famous for its Cantonese style stir-fry noodles with power wok-hei! Now they opened a branch in Singapore by the 3rd gen hence called Ipoh Tuck Kee SON🥰 firstly the queue can be quite insane as there is a normal queue and a buzzer queue😂✨ so expect min. 1 hour wait😅 highly recommended to go at 1130am when it opens!👍 personally it’s definitely worth a 45 mins queue for me ☺️ the savory sweet dark sauce is packed with smokiness and aromatic wok-hei taste 👅 smooth noodles just made the whole plate slurp worthy! The baby octopus 🐙 looks simple but it’s done so well - soft, chewy with a crunch bite🤤 pairs well with the shallow oil and even better with the tangy spicy sauce 🌶 must order‼️meanwhile stay safe everyone🙆‍♀️

🐟finally tried @pinkfishsg which has been on my to-go-list for a while🐟✨ got to try their latest Christmas special Nordic shrimp bun with mentaiko! Which is so delicious!😍 if you like haidilao prawn paste - it is similar but more fresh and juicy✨ goes lightly well with the sweet unami mentaiko and soft grilled buns!🥰 The cream chowder soup is served creamy hot perfect for the recent cold weather 🥶💕 @pinkfishsg is so underrated really, do give them a visit✨ their service is so good, cosy quiet seats to do work as well😊 ( that’s what we did🤭) can get some fish skin as snacks or even @ocd_cafe ice cream 🍦❤️! ROTI PRATA FOR BREKKIE!💯 finally tried the famous mr & mrs Moghan super crispy roti prata✨ the number of Prata stalls that makes their own dough is getting fewer! They are one of them👍 I love how their Prata has a cereal-like crispy texture and not oily! They are more on the chewy thicker side but not too much also which works well with the curry😋 the cheese Prata is so thin yet still cheesy 🧀😍 do recommend to get it! The waiting time is about 20-30 mins though so do go early!!!

It is super cheap at $0.90 only!!!!!😍 crispy on the edges with warm soft insides and packed filling of coconut/peanut or cheese🤤 it’s on the second floor: look out for 和合 stall name✨🥰 u will see the nearby queue for nasi lemak😂

It’s the last day of circuit breaker!😊 who is going back to work?😭 one thing that really impressed me is the digital evolution of fnb and the community spirit from these tough times🥰 found out about @tutukuehpapa (started by his Niece if I’m not wrong - hear from my mum) through my HDB Facebook page 💕you can check out his story on @eatbooksg and @zaobaosg ✨circuit breaker turned mr ho tutu kueh from a nameless stall to a sold out online waitlist👏 food verdict: maybe due to crazy orders, the skin is bit dry and can be steamed slightly longer. But the coconut filling is really on point 🥥✨and the uncle very friendly hehe, slot my fam order in between cos we are in the hood🤭 I definitely learn more new things bout my hood thanks to circuit breaker🤗
