Western Food
While the Quarter Roasted Chicken with two incredibly generous sides ($12.50) is a CBD lunch staple for many, the modest Hamburger (with Bacon, $14) deserves a spotlight of its own. Just look at the gooey melted cheese draped over the juicy Angus beef patty and you know you've got a winner. Slap on a strip of bacon, some rocket leaves and a squeeze of mayo and barbecue sauce β itβs everything you need in a burger, nothing more, nothing less. The burger comes with a choice of either: three hot sides (creamed cauliflower, corn, peas, mashed potatoes), two of their salads of the day or hot chips (super addictive Cajun fries!) β so worth it.

We get it. Sometimes, all you really want is a stiff drink with your kid in tow, so head on down to District 10. There is a bouncy castle set up on weekends (from 11:30 am to 4:30pm) for young ones, and a good drinks list β from cocktails (from $17.50) to Japanese whisky (from $12) β for the adults. The European-inspired menu has both child-friendly eats like Pizzas (from $16) as well as more sophisticated plates like Crispy Goose Leg Confit ($26). Pro-tip: Check out their one for one Happy Hour (11am to 8pm daily except Monday) deals on beers and housepours.

This Western stall by night (it's a coffeeshop in the day) may only operate after 5pm, but its never-ending stream of customers is testament to how value-for-money the food is here. Regulars of The Carving Board know that its best to come as early as 5pm to snag a seat. Expect everything "western" you can think of β pasta, burgers, grilled meats and ribeye steaks, all reasonably priced below $20. The customisable Spaghetti (from $5) is what you should come for β al dente spaghetti tossed in your desired sauce (tomato, cream, spicy tomato or aglio olio) with choices for add-ons like Grilled Zucchini ($1), Smoked Duck ($3.50) and Seafood ($3.50). For heartier mains, the saucy Barbecue Pork Chop ($9) that comes with a side of salad greens and sauteed potatoes will fill you up just right.

Garlic prawns.
Perfect place for tapas with good value! Second time here and food has been consistently amazing. You canβt go wrong with this classic Spanish tapas dish.
These tender succulent shrimps cooked with garlic, sherry, parsley and lemon are completely irresistible. Plus, the spicy garlicky sauce is so good youβll find yourself soaking them up with the bread!
