Nice places for a dinner or a date

If you’re looking for authentic Si Chuan cuisine, this is the place to go. It was $38 for a whole fish but it was so good and definitely worth the price. The aroma of the chilli oil hits you immediately once the dish is served. It was so spicy and my tongue was burning but I couldn’t stop eating, that was how good it was!! Be warned that like authentic China food, it’s really oily so it’s not something I could eat often as my poor stomach won’t be able to handle it 😢
The mapo tofu is also really good at $7 and surprisingly not as spicy as it looks at all!

Got the 1 for 1 dons at Kogane Yama with burpple beyond 😍 This Mentaiko Don itself was $18.90 and was super worth it to get with the promotion. The seaweed is crispy, and a light layer of furikake is hidden beyond the generous helping of seaweed and mentaiko. I normally don’t eat a lot of rice but I gobbled everything down so quickly I almost got indigestion. I loved how you can eat it as a rice bowl, then pour in the hot soup you are given to switch up the style and eat it as a hot soupy item. The mentaiko was really tasty and became a nice gravy with rice once I poured in some soup halfway through.

With the 1-for-1 special promotion, it’s only $56++ for two people for an all you can eat buffet?!
Though The Carvery doesn’t have much variety for a buffet, it makes up for it with the taste of each dish.
The highlight is the large chunk of roasted beef, chicken and pork where the Chef will personally slice for you your desired cut. The pork was especially delicious with a crunchy and crispy skin. The meat had just a right amount of fat which melted in your mouth 🤤 the roast chicken was also juicy and delectable. However, the beef was slightly too raw for my taste and was not too flavourful either.
The desserts were also great, as well as their seafood with fresh prawns and mussels.
Overall, really worth it especially with the promotion!!

The Pistachio Panna Cotta from Saveur is by far my favourite Panna Cotta. Though it does not have that signature Panna Cotta “melt in your mouth” texture, it is thick and creamy with a strong flavour of pistachio. The nuts also provide a burst of flavour and crunch to the dessert.

The Angel Hair Pasta at Saveur has always been my favourite dish and our family makes sure that we always order at least one to share whenever we come here. The pasta is flavourful yet light on your palette, perfect as an appetiser or main. However one thing I’ve noticed is that the pasta has been getting drier as compared to the first few times we’ve ate it and the prices have been going up. One good thing is that it now comes as a main dish instead of only being sold as an appetiser, with a bigger serving size to satisfy our cravings
