and it definitely is. the menu variety was amazing! we chose a branch near omori station, instead of the shibuya/branches located in the tourist areas to avoid the queue. it was rather early in the morning, but the restaurant was already busy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

anyways, we were supposed to go to a very famous eel restaurant that had a 7 hour lunch queue, but sadly it was a wednesday and the stall closed, so we searched on google for other eel places in nagoya because we couldn’t possibly leave without having an eel meal!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
we read that the queue starts at 11am, so we went early, perhaps a tad bit too early (10.15am) and ended up walking around the area to kill time before having this bowl.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

fortunately we arrived at 6pm before the dinner crowd came in; there was a long queue when we left the place at 7pm. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
sushi was so so cheap, 108 yen per plate!!! there were a few items that cost more than that of course. some items came with a free try at the roulette game which was a first for me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
came here by taking the JR line (7 day JR pass) to Shibuya station and walking to this place. it was quite a walk but definitely worth it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

this beef place however made me less grumpy, it was SO GOOD and value for money. didn’t manage to find the exact location tag but luckily i’ve a picture of the stall!! there’s also a small alleyway next to it so we stood there to eat, undisturbed. only complaint is that the lady who seasoned the meat put too much salt and pepper, some parts were very salty. sadly the crowd was a huge deterrence for us and we didn’t return here again the next day before we left osaka, unlike nishiki market. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In fact it was so good we came back twice! Also the crowd is wayyyy less than Kuromon, we couldn’t even move in Kuromon market and that was when we realized we took the tranquility in Nishiki market for granted. Look out for this stall run by an elderly couple - they sell buttered scallops (torched) for ¥300 and it’s the best place for scallops in the entire market! there’s also a place selling cheese torched scallops for ¥500 (bigger and the entire piece) which was pretty good too. there were several sashimi places too; the one in the 4th pic was the most value for money and had the best raw scallops and sashimi plus some chairs and a table for you to seat comfortably and eat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

also the bottom of the cone contains a cake which reduces the amount of ice cream given? not to mention the cone is not even filled to the brim....... give me more ice cream!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

the egg wasn’t really that runny; but the broth was good. think the normal broth could be a bit too bland for singaporeans, maybe i’ll go for the strongest broth next time? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
