Having read the review from @veronicaphua a few weeks back, I was excited to finally try the hotdogs here. I hate having to ration the toppings on my dog, yet unfortunately I had to do so for my Phife Dawg ($14), which otherwise had tremendous flavour with its beef chilli, hot sauce, watermelon relish and smoked Applewood cheddar. I’m usually not one for comparing wieners, but do check out her review (and portion) on her page.

[Telok Ayer] @parkbenchdeli I need to shout this to the world. Their Cubano ($16) is the best thing since sliced bread. Crusty grilled ciabatta with salty pulled pork and smoked ham, molten cheese and a tangy aji verde sauce. Gnarly, rustic, with generous fillings, this is as authentic as it gets. [Tanjong Pagar] @twomenbagelhouse serves up classic NYC-style bagel sandwiches with generous portions and delicious flavour combinations. The BRISK ($14) had salty smoked brisket which was freshened up by gherkins, while the LOX ($12) paired smoked salmon with cream cheese ever so nicely. The crispy bacon and creamy avocado worked well in the AVO-BACO ($11), while the pulled pork in P-DOT-P ($14) was a tad dry and could do with some extra sauce. First bite of the Cheeseburger ($15/$10 on Tues) and the quality of the beef patty stands out immediately, being juicy and flavourful, albeit lacking a significant charred crust. There is an underlying piquancy in the background, from slices of raw red onions and pickles—the sharpness and tartness a required addition to cut through the rich meat and plenty of sauce which, although appreciated, caused the bottom bun to succumb to a state of relative sogginess. It was topped with a schmear of tangy sun-dried tomato relish, and sat upon a bed of arugula, dressed with a few dribbles of that Sarawak pepper cream (more sauce needed please, it’s a tad dry). You could do worse.

Damn. Good. With a perfectly charred and well-seasoned exterior, the loosely packed meat was moist and had a great mouthfeel, with sweet grilled onions and a killer sauce, between a tasty, pillowy potato bun which was sturdy enough to support the burger; the Rosita’s Deluxe ($15) was a delight to eat. The Yardbird Chicken Sando ($20) featured a katsu breast which would put most chicken sandwiches to shame—fried crispy yet not dried out inside, but having insufficient tartar sauce reduced its pleasure. The Chilli Burger ($20) and Chilli Fries ($10) shared a beef chilli with an intense meaty flavour. @parkbenchdeli @rositasdeluxe @yardbird One year is too long a wait.

[MBS] Oh so sinful, but so very good. The iconic DB burger ($45) of @dbbistrosing, surely does not fall short of our expectations of a luxury burger, with the medium rare sirloin patty stuffed with generous servings of foie gras, black truffle and red wine braised short ribs, all between a Parmesan bun. The patty itself was amazingly juicy as well; the delicious meat juices trickled down my arms as I sank my teeth into it. Served with fries, it makes for a very filling dinner. For the big eaters, be sure to also try their Coq Au Vin ($38). Oh, and did I forget to mention their extensive cocktail menu?

[Bugis] @25degreesinsingapore signature burger, the Number One ($14); a 200g USA Angus beef patty, coupled with creamy crescenza, gorgonzola, strips of smoked bacon, caramelised onions and Thousand Island sauce, was underwhelming. Our medium rare burgers were unevenly cooked and a tad too dry. The bottom of the bun was strangely greasy, however the flavor combination worked well. #singaporefood #burgers #burpple
