Middle Eastern
A favourite spot! Always love some super soft and fluffy pita and fresh homemade hummus from Pita Bakery. Had this gorgeous ‘Taste it All’ platter during a recent visit and finally got to try everything they have on the menu - hummus, baba ganoush, falafels, salad, pickled veg and 3 dips (amba, harissa & tahini), with a choice of 2 pita. We topped up more pita to share among the 3 of us and it was so filling. Enjoyed the food as usual, though I must admit that we weren’t as used to the flavours of the salad and pickled vegetables.
While you’re here, pls get their pita chips ($3) too! They are fried strips of pita - SO crunchy, not oily and were seasoned perfectly. Know it can be quite intimidating if you’ve never ordered before or are not familiar with the items, but the service is always fab.
This was a genius combi! It’s not very clear in this photo, but wedged in the middle of the brie is an amazing layer of house-made truffle paste. On the side, you get a tangy-sweet berry compote and a few ritz crackers, which were just all soooo good together. We got this savoury-sweet dessert to share but I bet we were all secretly hoping we didn’t have to 😂
Macerated mixed berries with cream chantilly and basil oil. Cream was really light and was a lovely pair with the tart and sweet berries. This and the Truffle Brie ($13) are the 2 desserts available on Habibi-san’s menu. If you have space, get both as they’re very different and it was nice to switch it up between bites!
We were very lucky to have came by on the day that they had specials available. We picked the trout which was stuffed, wrapped with cabbage and done charcoal grilled, served with a side of nutty macadamia sauce. Did find it a tiny bit salty on some parts but the fish texture and its freshness was stellar.
Habibi-san has 3 kushiyakis on their menu. We ordered a stick of the Shish Tawook and Iberico Pork Jowl - each stick has 3 chunks. Found the pork a touch tough, but the tangy bulldog mayo made up for that. The Shish Tawook has charcoal chicken thighs smeared with toum, a whipped garlic sauce. Chicken chunks were thick but were absolutely juicy and flavourful. Loved this!
Another one of the dips available on the menu - classic babaganoush done with sesame dressing, extra roasted sesame seeds and chicken skin for that crunch!
House-made labne, with ‘mentaiko xo’, chives and crunches from tobiko and crispy shallots. This is one that’s better for sharing for its super strong flavour. Personally found it a little too salty, but still kept going for it anyway heh. It was creamy and very cheesy, while the crunches were not only good for texture, but helped to cut through the labne. This paired well with their pita ($3).
Ordered this because we were all big fans of burrata, but oh my, those unassuming hay-smoked cherry tomatoes with daikon salsa totally stole the show for me. They were super addictive with the balance of its natural sweetness and light smokiness. I could have had a whole bowl of it on my own 😂 Burrata was soft and creamy.

Had such a good dinner at the new Habibi-san, a middle eastern izakaya! Menu’s small but unique and fun with Japanese elements. Started off with their pita that were a little pricey each, but served warm and so fluffy. They paired nicely with the dips (were so tasty) we had that we ended up ordering more to pair!
Apart from the ala carte menu, they also have ‘FEEEEED ME!’, an omakase option that goes at $58 per pax, with a minimum of 2.

Can’t believe I’ve never tried this before! Apart from the soft and fluffy pitas, these pita chips were great to go with their hummus, babaganoush and dips. They had a nice crunch without being oily, and were seasoned perfectly.
Huge tasty mezze that’s perfect for sharing! You get a great variety here - roast pumpkin and dukkah, feta salad, falafel, bulgar tabbouleh, olives, hummus, red pepper dip and tzatziki, with a side of Greek pita.
Thank you @jonesthegrocersingapore for having us and @burpple for the kind invite! ✨
Back for my fav pitas and hummus around! 😍 Just 100g is good to share with a friend, and make sure you get their freshly made pitas to go along. They have white/wholemeal pitas at $1 each, while the premium flavours like garlic, za’atar, etc. are at $2.20 each. Haven’t been here in a long while and they now have a nice air-conditioned seating area!
