I didn’t recall my last buttermilk chicken burger here was this good; really love the coleslaw within because it’s not bitter at all and it helps create texture to the whole dish! Though buttermilk could be a tad covered up by the abundance of black pepper used for the batter, this burger sure goes pretty well today!

Fish and chips was an obvious popular choice amongst patrons here. Hardly comes as a surprise as the British classic of light crisp beer battered fish and chips was one of the better ones I’ve had in awhile considering its flavour, price point and portion. Pick the type of fish you like (Barramundi, haddock, pollock, snapper and the most affordable which was dory). I liked how they actually remained crisp for quite long. Surprisingly preferred the dory to the snapper and barramundi as the fish seemed firmer.

These soufflé pancakes from Poofy sure was poofy! Light and fluffy as a dream (Hokkaido milk and Japanese flour were used); the Poofy Pancakes ($14) was served with a delicate, fragrant chantilly cream, maple syrup and berries.
Preferred this to the Matcha by Riz Labo ($17) as it was less dense than the gluten version.

The pretty looking cakes on display further complemented the gorgeous interior. Out of the lot, we got the one that was shaped to resemble a green apple, the Pompom ($9.30). With a citrus shortbread base with green apple jelly filling; it forms the foundation for the green apple cream top. The sweetness of the base and tanginess from the green apple balances the flavours out, making it a good after-meal treat.

This place has since become one of my go-to-places for lunch for qq noodles and nice Hong Kong styles noodles and congee. Recently they’ve been experimenting with some variants i really enjoyed this new prawn noodle-ish dish. Huge prawn wantons atop wanton noodles with a nice, al dente spring to them and two large prawns served with a rich (but not heavy) broth - this is exactly a cross between really good prawn noodles and really good wanton noodles. The fried shallots give textural contrast to the dish, while the sweetness of the prawns and the intense umami in the soup really brings the flavors in the dish together. The chilli sauce provided on the table seemed to have dried shrimps ground into it, so you can add that to your noodles for an extra burst of spice and umami. Much love to this place. #burpple

Went ried their Tart ($8) and we love it! We will definitely drop by for other selections 💯

This is as original as it gets. Each piece of the chicken wing is well marinated and coated with tasty prawn paste. The staff here averaged 50/60 years old and is very experienced in traditional cooking. Yummy. Posted by Ah Leong San 2015 August 17.

好好wanton mee. The charsiew was sweet, and the green mee was soft and yummy.

All these for just $26! The green curry and tom yum soup packed heat, so would be good to order either or. The lemon chicken is definitely something to shout about though. Sauce was zesty and one thing unique about the sauce is the inclusion of salted egg in it. Didn't know lemon and salted egg can be combined like that; expect an explosion of flavours in your mouth! Average per person at $9.30 only! #burpplecheapngood

The fried egg had a golden lava goodness and the tender yet juicy chicken went so well with the crunchy vegetables and slightly charred rice. The spicy yet more tasty than usual bibimbap sauce added the last touch, to confirm that this is really the best bibimbap I have eaten.

The Burpple community has tons of good things to say about the food here, and this newish kid on the block in Craig Road is fast becoming one of our favourites for honest to goodness pasta. The fresh pastas are handmade daily and the sauces slow-cooked to bring out all the nuanced flavours; the price to value ratio is a big bonus too! Hearty and saucy, the tomato-based Italian Meatballs ($12.80, with your choice of pasta) is a classic that never fails to satisfy. The Sicilian Anchovy ($10.80 with your choice of pasta) on the other hand is a little less saucy, but so delicious in its simplicity — anchovies, caramelised onions and chilies come together for an umami bomb. Try it with the angel hair pasta, which Burppler Jayne Tan recommends. The gooey Fried Mozzarella ($6.80) makes for a tasty starter to share, and goes well if you're in the mood for a few reasonably-priced drinks with friends. A bottle of their Chianti goes for $38, or get a bucket of five Italian beers for just $30.
Avg Price: $15 per person
