【Kakuida’s】
Having the healthy Honey Ginger Kurozu with Orange Peel and Original Baked Donut for $4.90 as a bundle. The donuts are baked (not fried) using rice flour imported from Japan, added with kurozu to enhance the flavour. Love the bouncy-soft texture within and not too sweet. The tea had a pleasant citrus fragrance with orange peel bits floating on the surface.
The ginger was pungent and spicy, balanced with the sweetness of the honey and acidic kurozu. Perfect remedy tea for after lunch digestion.

The Impossible “beef” patty melts is an excellent substitute for meat. The “beef” patty wowed me away, as the patty was damn tender and juicy. I thought it Beef if I have no idea, it’s definitely not as heavy as beef. It was well-complemented with a generous serving of caramelised onion and dill pickles sitting on perfectly toasted dark rye bread. OH! they added regular American cheddar, so if you’re a vegan you might probably ask to be skipped.

The Impossible Burger, in my opinion, is simply a good ‘meat’ substitute that tastes slightly different from what regular beef tastes like. Most people won’t even tell the difference, definitely a good choice for people that has high cholesterol. #likeme 😂

Sinful House Marinated Chicken Thigh, Hippie Greens, Bacon, Red Onions and Sriracha Aioli on cheddar bagel is definitely a way to go for a cheat day. The generous amount of marinated chicken thigh was damn tender and juicy, super value for money.

A savory classic New York’s bagel that was packed with layers of smoked salmon, in between cream cheese. Accompanied with house-made pickled red onion and beet added a subtle tangy crunch to the toasted seeded bagel.

Omg! This is the best pretzel bread I ever had in Singapore, it’s freshly made from scratch ever morning it had been around over 30 years and it’s family recipe.

I was damn impressed with the crunchiness of the through that crispy, buttery, toasted crust studded with salt. Such soft and squishy bread that was served warmed up simply blew my mind when I first bite into it.

I’m in love with this place will definitely revisit!

The crackling buttermilk batter seasoning was immaculately spot on with deliciousness. The sous vide chicken thigh was moist and tender, with it juicy practically spilling out with each bite! It was served with shredded lettuce, garlic aioli, chipotle honey dressing on soft brioche bun. This was out of control, my sis devour it within 15 minutes, worth every calories!

Though initially I do not have high expectation cos tongue can sometimes be gamey and rubbery. But it completely blew my mind! This is so perfectly cured and brined for hours then shaved into thin sheets, the flavour and the tenderness was to die for! The richness of this succulent pile of meat is counterpointed by generous dollop of gribiche (hard boiled egg dressing) and a piquant tangy dijon mustard. Buttery house-baked brioche slices hug this divine concoction; the bread tender but not so airy that it sags beneath its beefy bounty. OMG! Everything was divine to greatness, I just died in Ox Tongue’s Heaven.

Me love for croissant is real, just look at the layers of glory brings me to satisfaction. 🥰 It’s light, flaky and buttery. Thanks to the Pastry Chef pays attention to lamination of dough process, It’s mind-blowing! And the precision applied when layering the butter evenly in thin sheets of dough. I savoured every bite and even the crumbs that fell onto the basket. It’s definitely worth my journey to the west!

【Plain Croissant】
I’ve been craving for croissant ever since I left Tartine in San Francisco. I just can’t get enough of Croissant, I could have them everyday. It’s my first time at Tiong Bahru Bakery, and I must admit that their croissant is pretty damn decent. It was just a little dense and maybe not as flaky as what I would love from tartine but satisfied me just a little. 🙊

Ma Shrooms: Double Portobello, Cheese, Halloumi, Green Goodness, Hobo Greens with Cheddar Bagel. Vegetarian option since we had the protein from the chicken, and to my surprise it was not that bad just that the “fatty” ratio were a little too much. But I love how well-grilled the halloumi cheese was, generous amount of the Portobello was damn substantial. 🧀

Bird: House Smoked Chicken Leg, Moroccan Spice, Tomatoes, Smoked Aioli with Hobo Greens with Seeded Bagel. I was pretty blown away by the flavour from the bagel and the chicken was well marinated, tender and juicy. Each bite was irresistible. 🐓
