I'm heading to Japan now, the land of awesome fishes and seafood. A throwback to a fish burger I had at Market Grill last month, where I had this swordfish fillet that was grilled and topped with a sauce mixed with herb mayo, mango salsa and house spices. And I thought the use of the zesty sauces really help to kill some of the fishyness of the swordfish.

Market Grill is great for its grilled meats, and it's one of the best around. But I was surprised they do fried chicken very well too.
🔸
This super-sized chicken patty is made using only thigh meat, and justice was done to it by keeping it's interior moist while frying the exterior till crispy. Served with roasted bell peppers, anchovies, capers, garlic, chipotle aioli.

Accepting @okwhotookmyusername challenge for the #BurppleBurgerMonth, which gives me enough excuse to eat as many burgers as I wish. I'm still hoping that I'll either win the $300 burger party for 10 at Potato Head Folk, or someone would bring me when he/she wins 😁

This burger is taken at Free the Robot, and I always trust this place to serve decent food at a great price. This egg, bacon, cheese and patty went well together with the nicely toasted bun. Patty was tasty, but bordering on being over seasoned and over cooked. Nevertheless, it's still a decent burger at only $13.
A daring combination here from the creative folks at Portico Host, and I'm pleased that it works well for me.

With crunchy peanut bits within the peanut butter, it's reminiscent of our satay sauce that I absolutely love. Caramelized Spanish onions, vine tomatoes, and cambebell cheese are sandwiched within the brioche bun - soft and fluffy ones - together with juicy wagyu beef patty. At $18, it could be the cheapest wagyu beef burger around, and definitely the best I've tasted at this price point.
🔸
My wishlist to make this even better - lift it with some pineapple zest in the peanut butter sauce! #BurppleBurgerMonth
What a way to celebrate #BurppleBurgerMonth! After I saw In-N-Out's print ad in The New Paper this morning, I shared it with the @Burpple Tastemakers and off we went!
🔸
Soft buns with double mustard-cooked beef patties, cheese, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and grilled onions in a signature secret sauce. It made me love fast food again, and left me hungry even after I've finished one.
🔸
Will I patronize if they open a permanent store in Singapore? Yes! It's better than other fast food burgers here. Will I queue for 30 mins again if they do another pop up? I won't do it alone, but definitely yes if I've people like @veronicaphua, @that_dex, @alhsx, @vanessa_kou, @lucaslzm, @yongweikai and @rachaelwong join me in this exciting expedition all over again!
The fried chicken cutlet sandwiched within the brioche bun was so well fried that it was so crispy. Give it a bit and it effortlessly crumbles into the juicy interior. So good.
🔸
The salted egg lava itself however wasn't strong in its salted egg taste, and was more creamy than grainy. I would take this burger anytime if they serve the fried chicken in other sauces, or improve on the salted egg version.
The Anarchy Bar has revised their dinner menu, now with lower affordable prices. I've tried several items and I like them, I found the choice and balance of ingredients to suit a more mature crowd (working adults like me) compared to Montana's previous offerings.
🔸
I tried the following:
Sides: Baked Mussels with Yuzu Miso Sauce ($18)
Sides: Truffle Cold Pasta with Hokkaido Scallop ($14)
Mains: Coffee Gula Melaka Pork Loin ($24)
Mains: Foie Gras Burger ($24, pictured)
Drink: V60 Chocolate ($6.80)
Wine: Tangerine Dream Natural Wine ($14)
🔸
My favorite is this foie gras burger with juicy patty and melty foie gras that exhibits a light, clean and buttery taste, and they really do melt into the beef patty after being in contact with heat from the patty, so eat it fast.

This burger surprised me. Then the tomato ketchup blown me away.
🔸
I really like how well the patty was grilled, lovely smoke scent while keeping its interior juicy. And those beef juices are delightful and delicately sweet, a deserving treatment to the premium Stanbroke Angus beef. All these, with caramelized onion, cheddar and smoked bacon served on toasted brioche bun and chunky fries.
🔸
And the finishing touch? A little bottle of Alain Milliat premium ketchup, so good, so precious, that I'm going to look for it in supermarkets and buy it for my own use.

A creative and daring combination here, and I'm pleased that it works for me.

With crunchy peanut bits within the peanut butter, it's reminiscent of our satay sauce, and perfect if it will be lifted by some pineapple zest! [New Festive Menu] Mind blown. We love our SG sio bak, but the I discovered Park Bench can do really really good Italian sio bak too with this rendition of fennel marinated porcetta in warm soft ciabatta.

Melty and juicy pork belly contrasted sharply in texture by the crispy but crumbly cackling skin, well-creamed with roasted garlic aioli with hints of smokiness, flavoured with caramelized onions and balanced fresh arugula.. I wish every month is Christmas month because this is only available in December!
This is my recommended main course here. The patty's the most important component of a burger, and this patty was cooked to a medium doneness and breaks down easily so that it's soft and juicy, while having a charcoal grilled smokiness on the outside.
🔸
Foie gras was rich and creamy without veins, without being too bitter, so those who dislike the acquired taste of foie gras may still like this. Have the patty together with the foie gras, as well as the accompanied cheddar, caramelized onions and lettuce to complete the burger experience.
🔸
My qualms? It's supposed to be Szechuan fusion but the chilli soy tapenade was so mild that this is just like a pure American burger. The good thing is that those who can't take spice may still be able to enjoy this.
Dense yet smooth and pillow-soft toast with tasty umami parma ham sandwiched in between. We were happy we added scrambled eggs because they were fluffy and made this toast much more fulfilling.

At this price for such quality, I don't mind doing a takeaway during my busy office days. Who needs the fast food sandwich chains anymore?
