Kouign Amann ($4.50++)
Sweet, flaky, buttery. What is there not to love? But I would prefer it to be heated up a bit more when served.
Brie and Roast Mushroom Croissant ($9.50++)
Definitely not my favourite. Was a bit excited and took a huge bite, only to be overwhelmed by a spicy pungent smell (like wasabi, hot mustard smell). Im not a fan of wasabi so this is just not my thing I guess.
There are some jams that were available to take so I just took one of each. Here we have strawberry, apricot, pandan kaya and hazelnut chocolate.
Green Tea Croissant ($5.20++)
The matcha flavour is not as strong as I expected. Only a slight hint of matcha but pastry was flaky and mildly sweet. Not bad as a whole.
Hazelnut choux ($10.50++)
Taste like Ferrero Rocher. Good to share because the flavour is quite rich. It tastes really good but $10.50 for one is quite steep.
The rice was quite light in flavour with sweet chestnut within. Suitable for those who like light flavours. Salmon was average. Portion was good. Not overly filling either. The set comes with hot green tea and a salad. Salad comes with a dressing which was too salty in my opinion. I enjoyed the meal overall.
This seasonal okowa contains scallops and prawns. Quite subtle in flavour as compared to salmon okowa. Chicken cutlet was average. Not too bad
Chicken Cutlet was average but the rice was pretty flavourful. The portion was okay for me...not too small or too big. Not bad for a change!
Lava egg was awesome! Rice underneath was butter fried rice. Chicken was crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside. Not bad!
Definitely get the lava egg if you are here! The rice underneath is tomato fried rice with chicken and mushrooms. Overall not bad but the sauce was a bit too sour for my liking.
The freshness and quality of fish is definitely on point but I preferred the salmon, which has a softer texture, between the two.
Refreshing, light salad with super fresh ikura and salmon bites. A great start to the meal!
Sweet smooth creamy pudding. Could not taste the hojicha at all..just taste like a regular panna cotta.
Turned out smaller than expected. Subtle matcha flavour with a hint of mint. Not bad but not outstanding in my opinion
The sauce was a little too salty for my liking and the texture of the fish was on the firm side. I would probably choose another type of fish next time.
