White Restaurant is a chain restaurant in Singapore specialising in white beehoon. Featured here is their special mala white beehoon available till 31st December 2019 and only available at Suntec City Outlet.
It is cooked using the same thick flavourful broth as their normal white beehoon but infused with their very own mala recipe. If you’re a fan of mala (like i am), you’ll definitely enjoy this! The mala peppercorns added a touch of spiciness to the already flavourful gravy. Shiok!
Thanks Burpple and White Restaurant for having me.

Tenjin is the latest concept by the Les Amis group, and joins the ever popular tendon scene in Singapore. The moment i stepped into the restaurant, i was wowed by the beautiful interior. Tenjin definitely makes for a very instagrammable dining spot!
Featured here is the Premium Toku-Jo, consisting of anago, crab leg, prawn, fish, egg and assorted vegetables. I like how each of the items were lightly battered and not too oily, retaining its crispiness even after the time we spent to take our photos. My favourite items were the anago, crab leg and egg! Each set also comes with miso soup and kyabetsu salad. Another important thing i wanna mention is that the ventilation here is superb, so you will not walk out smelling like fried food after your meal.

Sakae Sushi was one of the earliest conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Singapore. However, their brand have since fallen on the back seat due to the emergence of fellow competitors. At a recent Eatup, we were treated to some of the food from their revamped menu and i was pleasantly surprised by the quality and array of items.
The other dessert we tried was the Apple Sorbet which was also very enjoyable. This was basically like having Fuji Apple in sorbet form, so refreshing! And the presentation of the dessert was very admirable too, so pretty!

For desserts, the Durian Mochi was very enjoyable for me as i’m a huge durian lover. Hidden under each soft snow skins were durian flesh that were sweet and bursting with durian flavour. Shiok!

That said, the Chicken with Truffle Mayo (only available at Sakae Sushi’s Teppanyaki outlets) was pretty good. The chicken was quite juicy and flavourful, and when you dip it with the addictive truffle mayo sauce, you just cannot stop at one!

That said, this plate of Beef Teppanyaki was my favourite dish of the night. Not my best picture but definitely needs a post as each cubes of beef was torched perfectly; each one of them bursting with flavours and juices! So addictive that it leaves you yearning for more! Available only at Sakae Sushi’s Teppanyaki outlets.

This Jumbo Crab Garlic Rice (only available at Sakae Sushi’s Teppanyaki outlets) was one of my favourite dishes of the night. The eggy garlic fried rice was complimented perfectly by the sweetness from the jumbo crab! One bowl is simply not enough (for me at least)!

For the Aburi selection, we were treated to Salmon, Nama Hotate (scallop) and Foie Gras. The scallops stood out most among the 3. Torch-seared and served in tobiko gold and spicy sauce, the blowtorched scallop tasted so good!

Started off with a plate of assorted sashimi (tasting portion pictured). The sashimi were all very fresh and good but the standout for me was the aka ebi (Argentine red shrimp); so plump and naturally sweet!

We were served a number of desserts at the Eatup, and it’s fair to say this was everyone’s favourite dessert of the night.
The moment i tasted it, i was totally wowed! The banana bread was warm, soft and fragrant. The espresso butter added an extra touch of sweet and savoury to it. Highly recommended!

Moving on from their breakfast menu, we were served the Roast Chicken (finally some meat!).
Roast chicken in lemon beurre noisette, served with warm red & white quinoa with raisins & almond flakes and a side of salad. I like the skin, it was crispy and quite flavourful but i wished the meat could have been juicier (it was a tad too dry).

Final item from their breakfast menu that i’ll be featuring is the Green Brekkie Bowl.
I have got to be the first to admit that when this dish was served on our table, i did not have much expectations as i’m not a very veg person. What i did not expect was this would be one of my favourites of the night!
The unexpected bowl of goodness came filled with kale, avocado, harricot beans, mushrooms, baby spinach, poached eggs, chilli flakes, turmeric, cumin, paprika and olive oil. It was slightly on the saltier side, but after a good mix all became good as everything started to become more well balanced. All the different flavours came together perfectly! It was safe to say this dish was well liked by everyone on the table.
