Despite its rather hefty price tag, the Beef Burger ($26) was a let-down.
The smallish homemade organic beef patty was extremely dry and crumbly, possibly due to the cuts of meat used. The level of doneness wouldn't have made a difference, if that was the case. Including toppings of crumbled parmesan cheese, caramelised onions and crispy Bayonne ham was a nice touch, but did little to improve my impression of the burger.
Even the homemade fries couldn't save the dish, being a far cry from the the ones I relished at the Tiong Bahru branch; they were soggy and underseasoned, as if they'd been left out of the fryer for too long. The salad was just......basic and bleh. It was all very underwhelming.
Was this just a case of two vastly different interpretations of "what makes a good burger" coming into conflict? You be the judge.
