Lolla is the place we point our friends to for good food — which is why we think every couple should make a pilgrimage here at least once in their relationship. Expect hearty and downright delicious small plates that are great for sharing with your beau. Apart from some of the best-selling dinner items like the Sourdough ($4) with Kombu Butter ($7) that are also available at brunch, there are a few new additions like the Stuffed Squid ($26) and the Crab Lasagna ($29) that you must order. The latter is packed full of luscious crabmeat and paired with a delectable bechamel sauce, a dish Burpple Tastemaker Michelle Kayla Tey says is "bound to leave you sighing with contentment". If the wallet is willing, order the Doughnuts with Lemon Curd ($12) or the Steamed Dark Chocolate Pudding ($15) for a luxurious ending.
Avg Price: $70 per couple

The ham was deep in its salty flavour, the cheese was fresh... excellent dish..
Oh so flavourful down to the deepest cuts of meat...this pork belly we had absorbed tons of flavour from the fennel and was crispy at the outer core... couldn't ask for anything better... 5 stars...
This dish is rather interesting and meets the unusual expectation of having something new but delightful. The crust of the pudding is crispy and holds its form while the interior is mildly granular and has a creamy but enjoyable texture and flavour. The portion is just right and forms a great starter for two...
It's hard to find a black forest Cake that embodies several characters the soul desires in a single serving of mouthful exuberance. When you take a spoonful of this cake be sure to let the flavours sink in... First is the taste of cherry laced with liqueur follow by a mildly thick layer of chocolate and soaked sponge... This cake is a perfect finish to a wonderful dinner .. thanks to the chef !
Scoring great bargains with the newly-launched Burpple Function, #BurppleBeyond, the premium membership programme currently has over 120 dining places to choose from. So for steak night, why not indulge in a special 5-course set menu at one of the partner restaurants, Fat Belly!
A focused dinner menu which would have otherwise set you back at $70++ per pax, can be enjoyed with an awesome 1-for-1 deal. Think balanced Duck Fennel Salad with Mango Balsamic Reduction to start, followed by aromatic Truffled Mushrooms with al dente Pearl Barley Risotto. Then right before the entrée, a refreshing quenelle of their house made Blood Orange Sorbet to cleanse the palate.
But of course, the star course was none other than the Mayura Signature Marble score 9+ Wagyu Tri-tip. Sous vide and grilled over charcoal, the result was a slightly smokey and succulent slab. Not overly fatty or lean. The beautiful cut also had the perfect bite as the natural flavours of the meat were retained and were able to burst through the delicate charred exterior (though it may look a tad dry). Couple all that with a bed of Purple Potato Puree, crunchy Roasted Almond Kale and savoury Bordelaise Sauce; and you got yourself a satisfying dish.
After which in the lineup, we had Sugarhaus Sticky Date Pudding. All warm, sweet, soft and moist. Though not exceptional, the steamed pudding texture just hits the spot especially with the pairing of a simple cool vanilla ice cream.
Because dessert is always a good idea, Cake Club by Marina Square is every sweet tooth’s dream come true. An entire weekend pop-up dedicated to showcasing some of the best bakeries and cake shops we have in Singapore.
But apart from cakes, one of the main highlights is the Vendors Guest Shifts and this weekend sees items from Non Entrée Desserts! Exclusively available at the Cake Club, dig into their Fried Salted Egg Avalanche with Vanilla Ice Cream and Deep Fried Orhni Avalanche with Coconut Gelato - each priced at $8.50.
A wonderful twist to their signature avalanche series, the fried exterior certainly adds a different textural contrast though the flow of the warm lava is less dramatic. And if like me, you enjoy hints of savoury to your desserts, the Salted Egg Avalanche would definitely hit the spot with subtle fragrance from the curry leaves atop the bits of baked Kataifi. So good~
A big thank you to Burpple for the invitation and Marina Square for hosting us!
