Zi Char

Zi Char

Always feel that zi char are hawker food but are relatively expensive like restaurants... But recently I find out there are pretty much affordable one

Wanna enjoy some good Zi Char dishes while having a good view? Here is what I gonna share with you that I have recently tried!
.
George Town Tze Char & Craft Beer - situated at Boat Quay specialises in traditional Penang favourites and fresh seafood, headed by their award winning Chef - Chef George Tan from Ayer Hitam in George Town Penang...
.
What we have tried:
1) Penang Thai Style Squid
2) Crispy Pumpkin Prawn
3) Signature Thai Curry Fish Head
4) Kungfu Pork Ribs
5) Chilli Crab
.
My best pick would be their Signature Thai Curry Fish... they have used snapper - flesh were firm and smooth, taste of freshness well blended with the spices and chilli used for this dish... girls always we love Low carb diet but in this situation here was too hard to say no to white rice... I finished the whole damn bowl for this curry fish here... the next in line will be the chilli crab - their sauce was more towards the savoury end as compared to the regular ones that are on the sweeter side... The crab was really legit fresh and I had like a segment of it... but me being me... hated peeling crab so I gave up after that... but the owner was really kind and made us some soft shell crab for us to go with the sauce... the owner had also shared a lot of tips on wine/beer - alcohol pairing with steam fresh seafood that is very much appreciated... should I be visiting again I gonna get some steam ones to go along with their pairing recommendations...
.
They currently run a promotion for their Crabs (500gm) is going at $15 each - regular priced at $40... don’t miss this DAMN WORTH IT DEAL... 别让生活留白!!!

Love the Lime Seabass most out of all... But basically all the dishes are nicely done, crispy chicken skin, papaya salad, green curry, eggplant with minced meat and roasted pork... Feeds 4... Cheap and good... Highly recommended for a food sharing session...

Crispy yet not oily... Coated nicely with the pork floss which gives away the taste of snack like feeling ;)

This moonlight hor fun here looks greasy but in fact is not that oily as we feel... The hot fun was separate from each other... Not sticky at all... Smooth and flavourful... Really good... Generous portion with seafood in it at $6/plate...
