Second visit in less than a month. Not the best Korean cooking nor top-quality ingredients, but good enough, and relatively long menu for a semi fast food joint. (Avoid the noodle dishes, unless you fancy instant noodles). More importantly, it’s excellent value, especially at lunch and if you’re two of more. Service is exceptional - friendly, proactive and efficient. They even offer to refill the drinks and side dishes without your asking.

The best thing about this place is the fresh silken tofu - extremely yummy! Otherwise, the BBQ meats are good but not extraordinary, and do not come with all the accompaniments (lettuce, etc) like at the premier Korean BBQ restaurants (eg. Chang at Dempsey). The soups are good, but portions are tiny; spicy (level 3) is not spicy at all, so if you want Szechuan-type spiciness, order level 4 (called ‘crazy hot’). Prices are high for the quality, so I doubt we would go back. There are many better choices for Korean food in town. But SBCD does not stand for Shincheonji Best Church in Daegu.

Not refined, but very satisfying. Portions are generous, especially for the ‘mega’ dishes. The UFO platters easily feed 3 people, even starving teenage boys. The watermelon soju drinks come in half a large fruit, for all to dip their straws in. Chicken wings are yummy; the spicy yangnyum ones are extraordinarily messy, but you are given plastic gloves so it’s ok. The lotus fries are very pretty. Friendly, helpful service. Place to go to with a big group of youngsters in a party mood.
