Café Trippin’

It was an expensive slice of cake, but so rich and good. The Bailey didn’t come off too strong, but the cheese was luscious and creamy without being too surfeiting. The cookie base complemented the cheese very well.

It was a simple plate of waffles with scrambled eggs and honey bacon strips. I loved that the waffles were crispy and light. The whole dish felt very homely in a good way, and the cosy environment also helped to elevate the dish.

This was beautifully plated with an array of nuts that really worked my jaws! There were almonds, pecans and hazelnuts. The coconut yogurt was smooth and the slight tart flavour went well with the sweetness of the dark chocolate granola. It was a tad sweet for my liking. Overall, a very filling meal due to the nuts in this dish.

Baked chicken leg served in tomato based sauce stew with tomatoes, carrot, baby potatoes and brussel sprouts. While the chicken meat was not at the level of “fall-off-the-bone-tender”, it was still tender and soft. This was a hearty and healthy meal that filled my tummy and my heart on a cool rainy day.

It was a very generous portion of shoestring fries but felt that it would had been better if the fries were better coated with truffle and cheese.

This café is quite a beautiful and quaint space with (tamed?) chickens roaming around outside the café. There’s also free WiFi!

This was surely a nutty bowl which worked my jaws. There were almonds, (slightly crunchy) goji berries, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, dark chocolate granola, and of course acai. The acai was well-blended and not overtly sweet. The star of the show was the homemade granola - it was hearty, sweet and oaty.

Buttermilk waffles drizzled with maple syrup, with a sprinkle of toasted rice. Served alongside a scoop of matcha gelato. The waffles were crispy to a T. The matcha gelato was refreshing with matcha fragrance permeating through the gelato.

Linguine tossed in mild spicy tomato sauce with sautéed crab meat, bird’s eye chilli and pine nuts topped with fresh parsley. It was a delicious bowl of pasta with generous portion of crab meat. The pasta was also cooked al dente which I really enjoyed.

This was a luxurious piece of toast which I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s standard café breakfast but it was done very well. The avocados were creamy and delicious, and the egg was perfectly poached.

It’s a treat once in a blue moon, because of the hefty price tag. Coffee was great too!

2 slices of sourdough toast [$5] + Homemade Nut Butter [$3]

The sourdough toast was flakey and delicious. The fragrance permeated my entire mouth. The nut butter was a little on the drier side but it was very nutty.

Young mung lentils + GMO-free rice + curry leaf + steamed broccoli & other veggies + raita + tomatoes + herbs

It’s a South Asian cuisine made of rice and lentils. It‘s heavier on carbs and fills me up. Impeccable service once again.

Rice noodles + mixed lettuce + mixed cabbage + bean sprouts + Japanese cucumber + cashews + sunflower seeds + fried shallots + coriander + sesame oil + crispy rice paper + almond dressing

The fried shallots was the sin in this otherwise gloriously healthy dish. It’s an Asian salad that wasn’t mind-blowing but it was truly very Asian tasting. The plating was pretty too.

This café has a cosy ambience and it serves up many other healthy meals too!
