PRICE: $7.50
Includes 1 bowl of rice, chicken, potato, small cabbage, cabbage, beancurd sheets, sweet potato noodles
-- feeds two!!!

WAITING TIME: 15 minutes on a Thursday night

RATES: Counts by portion, not by weight.
Veg $1
Meats $2
Seafood/Beef/Mutton $3
Instant noodles $2
Rice $0.50
Base is FOC ❤

SPICINESS LEVEL: Ordered mid level this time because 2 of us were sharing. No peppercorn so it's not numbing. Fragrant. Not oily.

WAITING TIME: Long queue at 9.33pm on the eve of National Day. Ready for collection at 9.57pm.

WILL WE RETURN? Of course. This is already our 3rd visit to this stall since June this year. And we don't even stay in the East.

PRICE: $6 (good for 1 person)
*Charges by weight, not portion*
*Minimum spending of $6 applies*
*No charge for base*

WAITING TIME: 5 minutes on a weekday night past 10pm

SPICINESS LEVEL:
Beyond the usual three levels of spiciness, they offer 'Super Hot 变态辣'. Ordered this. Got warned of its hotness. Still ordered this level because recently the 大辣 at other MLXG shops have been FAILING me.

It came full of dried chillies and chill padis and chilli seeds.

Definitely hot. I was impressed and happy.

It was however not numbing and lacks fragrance because there was no peppercorn. Pity.

I finished the bowl like a warrior. That night and the next morning I had a burning stomach and made trips to the toilet.

WILL WE RETURN?
Yes. HA HA HA.

PRICE: $8 for this bowl (1-person portion)
Charges by portion, not weight
$1/veg and noodles
$2/meat
$3/seafood and beef

WAITING TIME: Less than 5 minutes on a weekday past 8.30PM

SPICINESS: Drew a huge circle with two hands when I ordered 大辣. But it was hardly spicy. No peppercorns. More like 不麻不辣锅.

REMARKS:
- Filling enough for one at this price
- I like that mushrooms are charged at $1 per portion here. Can be expensive at other MLXG shops.
- I like that the fake fish maw thingy is charged under meats at $2 per portion. Still scarred by that one other MLXG shop that dared charge it as seafood, by the weight.
- Pork belly is nice
- Portions are okay. Didn't feel shortchanged.

Instant noodles $2
Rice $0.50

SPICINESS LEVEL: Ordered the spiciest.

PRICE: $10
(Pricing is mostly reasonable except the instant noodles is charged as $2...which is seriously expensive. Well, they know everyone NEEDS instant noodles in their MLXG so they may as well enjoy a huge profit margin from these cheap yummy junk noodles)

WAITING TIME: 3rd in queue on a Friday night at 10PM. 13 minutes from queuing to receiving order.

SPICINESS LEVEL: Ordered 大辣 this time after previously trying the 中辣 which was incredibly mild. Still didn't find it spicy. But still an enjoyable mala seasoning mix. Not too oily. Wished it was more fragrant and a tad more salty.

REMARKS:
- Pity they ran out of pork belly
- Will not order the pork collar next time (kinda tough)

PRICE: $9.70, good enough as a light supper for two
- sweet potato noodle
- instant noodles
- beancurd sheets
- 3 types of veggies
(Didn't order meat)

WAITING TIME: 5 min on a weekday past 11PM

SPICINESS LEVEL: Mid (slightly more spicy than the usual mid level elsewhere. Good balance of saltiness. But not that fragrant.)

REMARKS:
- Not oily
- No peppercorns

PRICE: $14 including 2 bowls of white rice. Enough for two adults.

RATES: Counts by portion, not by weight.
Veg $1
Meats $2
Seafood/Beef/Mutton $3
Instant noodles $2
Rice $0.50

SPICINESS LEVEL: Ordered medium -- zero kick for me, "spicy" for him. Will have to order 大辣 the next time.

WAITING TIME: A long queue greeted us at 8pm on a Wednesday.
8 minutes to reach the point of choosing ingredients.

Another 10 minutes to collection.

REMARKS:
- Not oily
- No peppercorns
- Fragrant
- Will not order again: Quail eggs (saw the person grab 5 to 6 into our ordering plate but there were only 3 quail eggs in our bowl later)
- Will order again: Pork belly, chicken, mock fish maw, 大白菜

WILL WE RETURN? Yes, when I'm in the East

COMPARED TO RIRIHONG: Not as spicy, fragrant and cheap

PRICE: $8.60

WAITING TIME: 5 min on a weekday evening

SPICE LEVEL: Mid level was okay. Can be more spicy. Quite salty.

REMARKS:
- has the two kinds of noodles I like, instant noodles and sweet potato vermicelli
- my favourite zhu pi aka fake fish maw is charged under the higher tier of meats, at $3.20/100g. Higher than elsewhere.

WILL I RETURN FOR THIS? Unlikely

PRICE: $14.10
Inclusive of 2 x noodles, 1 bowl of rice and 1 (pricey) bottled drink ($2.50)

WAITING TIME: 16 min at around 10pm on a Wednesday night. It was almost full house and there were lots of delivery orders.

PRO:
You can order according to your budget, no price shock during payment.
The order sheet allows you to select if you prefer less salt, more gravy, no peanuts, no spring onions etc.

CON:
You can only indicate how many portions you want of each ingredient. But you actually won't know how much that portion is. Our $1 portion of mushrooms turned out to be around maybe 5 sad stalks of shimeji mushrooms. No price shock here but you'll experience 'portion shock'.

WILL WE RETURN? Unlikely. Prefer to choose grab however much of each ingredient we want from the fridge.

PRICE: $7.98 (after Kopitiam card discount) for 1 portion of sweet potato noodles, 3 slices of pork belly, mock fish maw, beancurd sheet, kang kong.

Previously I was charged $7 (after Kopitiam card discount) for 2 portions of noodles (sweet potato noodles and instant noodles), pork belly, mock fish maw, beancurd sheet.

The lady simply put my whole plate on the scale regardless of item type and punched a few numbers on the machine.

WAITING TIME: 20 minutes

SPICE LEVEL: Requested for a level between medium and high and it was just nice for me. Quite salty this time though.

PRICE: $7. Super reasonable pricing.
Inclusive of 2 portions of noodles (sweet potato noodles and instant noodles), pork belly, mock fish maw, beancurd sheet

WAITING TIME: Really long cos it's that popular. At least 15 minutes.

SPICE LEVEL: Requested for slightly more than medium level since I just recovered from sore throat/cough/flu. Really shiok.

PRICE: $17.80
Which is ridiculous because when we order individual single portion it only ranges between $6-8, and it's not like we ordered twice of our usual single portion this time. It was a different guy calculating the price this time, so he must be the reason why.

SPICINESS: Ordered the lowest level because we were both sick. There's pretty much ZERO spiciness in it. What a letdown.
