Italian Inspiration

Not many places offer escargots in Singapore, but I do think theirs is one of the better ones I've had (even compared to restaurants overseas). Snails may sound really odd, but when cooked in luscious garlic parsley butter, served warm and eaten with an open mind, they're actually quite yummy.

I'm a creature of habit so I always order the same dish at the same place. This time I decided to try something different and boy, was I glad I did! Their butter rice was light and fluffy, topped with a soft runny omelette and creamy beef stroganoff gravy.

It doesn't look appetising because of the way the cheese melted into a puddle, but I was really impressed with how good it tasted. The meat sauce was really tasty and did everything right - tomatoey, meaty, cheesy. I would order this again.

I really liked their crabmeat pasta, which was both delicious and affordable. They very kindly changed the penne to linguine for me.
They were generous with their chunks of crabmeat, and the pink sauce was the perfect balance of cream and tomato. I also appreciated that there were no broken bits of shell (which I have experienced elsewhere).

A decent margherita pizza. Chewy dough, fresh ingredients. They bake it fresh on the spot. I felt it was missing a woodfired oven earthiness, but it's pretty decent if you're having pizza cravings and in the area.

Took advantage of their Buy-1-Get-1 free promotion that made it slightly cheaper than their usual promo prices. Love their generous layer of good quality mozzarella cheese, as well as the fresh juicy pineapples and chicken ham.

Never used to be a fan, but calamari is my newfound love 😍 and Pietro does it really well! The tomato dipping sauce served on the side is divine. A little pricey, but their version is honestly worth it (just look at that portion)! Price: $22

Found this hidden gem of an Italian restaurant nestled in the Seletar Hill neighbourhood. The chef was so friendly and came out to say hi to all the customers whenever he had a minute to spare between dishes!

I have a love-hate relationship with clam chowder, but this was definitely on the "LOVE" side of the equation. The soup was creamy yet light, and had absolutely no seafoody/fishy smell. A win! 😋

Price: $10 for soup of the day

P.S. They have 1-for-1 lunches from Tuesday to Saturday 11:30am to 2:30pm.

I loved the chunks of crabmeat and the tomato sauce that the risotto was cooked in. The presentation was good, the portion was good, the taste was good - what's not to love? 😊

Originally supposed to be a spaghetti but we asked if we could change it to linguine instead. Probably my favourite pasta from this restaurant. The meat sauce is flavourful and rich but not cloying or too dry!

Pasta with crabmeat and ebikko in pink sauce. I loved how well all the ingredients blended together, with the delicate crabmeat and the occasional burst of ebikko in my mouth, all held together by the light tomato cream sauce.
Would definitely recommend this dish!
